| Agree with that video, hell no, there just a bunch of strokers. Take a look under the desk, he's jerking him off!!!!
Also, no gonzo on your list, what about Witten. Are you delusional? Maybe you should start over.

- i know ya'll been waiting for this for a while now and just been dying to see my list so here it is
#1vernon davis (not only is he the best vertical TE but he's also the fastest and the biggest nobody can cover him he's the best in the red zone)
#2dallas clark (he's practically a wr at the TE position and he's got manning to throw him the ball)
#3 Owen Daniels (he's always open and it seem when the ball is thrown to him it's about 20+yrds down the feild it was amazin watching him the 1st 7 games of the season and even the game against the bills when he got hurt the play right before that he caught a 22 yrd pass on a 3rd and long what a beast)
#4 kellen winslow (out of all the TE in the league he's probably the only one that makes the most spectacular catches all over the feild and he's very good on those deep cross routes)
#5 (antonio gates his best route is the streak just send him up the middle and watch him jump up like larry fitzgerald and make an unbelievable catch in traffic and he has phillip rivers throwing him the ball)
#6 chris cooley (he can make plays down the feild and is considered a deep threat)
#7 jeremy shockey (giants gotta be sick for letting him go and trying to replace him with a piece of sh*t he so underrated and brees knows how good he is down the feild and make sure every giants fan see's it) Are you fucking kidding me? No Witten? Just shows you're a homer douchebag who knows literally nothing about the NFL.

| f*ck you here is why i didn't put witten on that list cuz he's more of an underneath TE and catches mostly short passes but he can be a vertical TE but he's not known for that
the TE's on that list are known for going Deep you know like O.D.

| Owen is hurt, he's not even a threat to catch a pass let alone a deep one right now. He should be on nobodys list. | |

| I don't understand the hype of having an overweight, overglorified WR and putting him in the TE position. | |

when you got a wr that can make big plays down the feild thats nice but when you got a TE that can do the same not only doe's it make an offence more exsplosive but it makes it that much better thtas the hype of it right there

| Yeah...but what you gain in passing attack you lose in rushing attack because the defense knows that if the TE doesn't run his route it's a run and if he does it's a pass. Running is by far more important in the NFL than passing. | |

Nope, sorry. Why do you think the 72 dolphins went undefeated? They had Czonka, Kick and Morris running the ball. They won their Super Bowl in spite of Bob Griese, not because of him. Just like the Steelers did with their first Super Bowl with Ben. Teams with fantastic running games and mediocre quarterbacks will do better than teams with fantastic QBs and mediocre HBs.

| Mario,
You say best vertical TE and then exclude anybody who catches short passes. DUDE, tight ends don't go deep, I don't care who you are. The difference between the ones you picked and the ones you left out might be 1 yard. And none of the tight ends on your list catches any balls more than 10 yards deep avg. NONE.
As I explained in an earlier post the TE's job in a vertical offense is to find the open space left by the WR pulling coverage. This is the original concept in Air Coryelle, now refered to as West Coast. The Texans run a version of this offense, made famous by Joe Montana and more recently by Troy Aikman and Jay Novacek.
And who was Troys backup, Jason Garrett. Sound familiar, yep the current OC in Dallas. No he doesn't run west coast but that is his background. With that in mind you just can't exclude Witten.
But hey that is all just me talking sh!t. Let's look at the facts
Jason witten yac, 3.6 avg per catch 8.9 OD yac 5.8 avg 13 Gates yac 7 avg 14 Winslow yac 3.7 avg 11.1 Clark yac 5.3 avg 12 Cooley yac 5.8 avg 11
So if you do the math, the difference between the highest and lowest is 2 yards. This is where they caught the ball.
Also jason witten actually received the ball further downfield on average than cooley, who made your list.
Please define vertical tight end is it in the vertical offense, is it a receiving tight end, is it a tight end that goes deep (is there such a thing) or is it something only in your mind to make OD a top five Tight End.

| You're probably saying, hey what's this stupid history lesson got to do with my post.
Well at least I offer a definition of "Vertical". With you I have to guess.
If I guess you mean going deep, then the conversation gets ridiculous because, Tight Ends don't go deep. So my list is best receiving tight ends.

| you have to be able to throw the ball "IN THIS DAY AND AGE" in the nfl back in the day you can run and win but now you really have to pass to get a "W" even if your a running team
vertical TE : a TE that goes deep (and there is such a thing) if O.D. wasn't hurt i would say watch a texans game to see it to believe it or watch a chargers game to see a TE (antonio gates) go deep or watch a colts game to see a TE (dallas clark) go deep
fact: the play right before O.D. got hurt (vs the bills) he made a 22 yrd catch thats deep for a TE and thats not the only deep reception he had
TE's that got the most 20+yrd plays
antonio gates 10 Owen Daniels 8
TE's that got the most 40+yrd plays
Dallas clark 3 Owen Daniels 2
i'll put a clip of O.D. making a deep catch for a TD later

He's talking about Brent Celek, aka Jason Witten Jr. "Brent Celek, aka Jason Witten Jr." awwww man thats disrespectful to witten if witten were to read that comment you made he'll probably slap you with his d**k Brent celek he's..........up and coming but really nothing special maybe in the top ten in his position but im not sure (haven't seen anything impressive come from him) but thats cuz im used to watching TE's like O.D! make big plays "Yeah man, he's elite as **** on the sidelines." yeah man haven't you seen the way he walks around with those crutches no other TE can do it like him! chris cooley ain't got s*** on O.D.

| dallas clark looked like Owen Daniels out there today making one handed TD catches and making spectacular plays all over the feild.
dallas clark reminds me so much of Owen Daniels cause their both ambidextrous and non-ambidextrous with the ball.
lol ya'll like that "ambidextrous and non-ambidextrous with the ball."
cause they can catch with one hand or two hands
