What's the difference between catching ability and "Spectacular Catch"?

Madden is fucking gay. The catching has nothing to do with anything. Randy moss will drop a perfect catch when hit, but Justin Gage will Always catch it when hes hit twice as hard.

catch = ability to catch

spec catch = ability to make a special, animated catch

i'm sure the rocket catchers will tell you 99 spectacular catch

the best way to explain it is that spectacular catch and possession catch have to do when ur usering the player. catching has to do when the AI makes the catch. also someone with a high spectacular catch will allow more animations than someone that doesn't. the difference is subtle but if u play enough you'll see the different animations that randy moss will get than wes welker.

here's the difference spectacular catch is when a guy like andre johnson makes a catch in traffic and holds on to the ball or say u throw a 54 yrd pass and some times the wr will jump in the air like (WOOOOOOOSH) and the opponent will be like HOW THE F*CK did he catch that that is what a spectacular catch is or it's were a wr is being doubled covered and he still makes the catch basically the wr will catch any thing u throw at him and make catches in tight coveredge that sometimes u can't even baleive it yourself or when u need a big time play a spectacular wr will make a dramatic catch with one hand in doubled coveredge with 2 defenders on his back (like they his jersey number or something) andre johnson perfect example watch him play against the jets this sunday you'll see what a spectacular catch wr is. and there's other wr that could do the same

what game are u playing. i have never seen any of the stuff u described in 10. only ppl making 1 handed catches are dbs and lbs

i wasnt describing nothing in the game about one handed catches when i said "a spectacular wr will make a dramatic catch with one hand in doubled coveredge with 2 defenders on his back" i was describing a spectacular catch wr cuz thats what the post is about (!)

and catching ability are really wr that got a good chance at catching the ball plain and simple

catch has more to do with holding onto the ball and spec catch is more about the types of animations they are to get the higher rating the better animations you can get
