okay now this is the first time ive posted a mini scheme so cut me a little but of slack here lol
the name of this formation should actualy be confusion cause that is exactly what this formation does if you run it right. i want to make it 100% clear that this is NOT something you can run every down. you can mix it into your D alot of the time but by no means should you run any/all of these plays every down. now its something that most players have not seen alot of before so it will take some getting used to for whoever you are playing. its a known fact in madden that a good scheme is more important then the talent your using. IMO this is not true with this formation. you MUST have good pass rushers for this to work. the chargers worked the best because of all the good LB they have. the colts are another team you could use this with (sub in freeny and mathis to rush and it keeps sanders in the box). if your looking for constant nanos or such then i would stop reading right here. the fact that all the players are standing and moving makes it very hard to set anything up but this is where the talent comes in. demarcus ware getting a running start into a 75 OVR LT?? im pretty sure you can figure out that that will bring some pretty good heat on its own without having to do anything. these plays bairly need any setup so all you will need to know is how to hot route players. being that its so simple i will tell you what to do, then give a breakdown about how and why the play works. lets get things started
Cover 3- hot route both flats to blitz and user FS
this play is my base play out of this formation. if the O is sending everybody out on a pass play then somebody will almost always gets through. the fact that everybody is moving and your blitzing the same amount as the line can block it creates the posibility for players to be stacked or overload one side of the line leaving a free rusher. if you have talented pass rushers then they can normaly beat there man one on one and get by that way. you still have 3 yellows and your playing 3 deep so its a pretty safe play to run
Cover 2- hot route both flat zones to purple zones
(optional) shade both safteys to the sideline
User a LB in a yellow
alot of people will prolly bash this play, saying how easy it is to beat cover 2 and how many holes it has (sideline and deep middle) but all that is easier said then done in the middle of a game when you dont know its coming. the purples play close enough to contain the flats and the safties shaded to the sideline fix that hole. if you user a LB and watch for anybody going of the deep middle and play that as your first responsibility then you will not get beat over the top. it floods the field with yellow zones making it a great play for 2 and 10 and those kind of situations. it only rushes 3 people but with the constant movement of those 3 it can still make some heat but you should still use this play with caution
MLB blitz- Pinch LB as close as you can to the snap
align your DBs and BnR
user whoever is on the RB or FB
this play can bring some nasty inside heat if you run it right. just pinch the LB as close as you can to the snap of the ball. this creates almost the same effect as the 1-5-5 normal cover 2 sink nano. the same person might not bust through everytime but this blitz very rarely gets picked up every time
MLB cross fire- align DBs and BnR
spread LB as close as you can to the snap
this is the most opertunistic of all the man blitzes in this formation. the MLB twist in the middle but its just as easy for you to get outside heat as it is to get inside heat. ANYBODY can honestly get in using this play so your opponent will never know where its coming from. just like every other man blitz, it can be easy to beat if you know its coming so just mix it in and dont abuse it
DB Blitz- align DBs and BnR
if MLB cross fire is the most opertunistic of all the blitzes then this one is the simplest. almost zero setup is required and this play brings CRAZY outside heat if you have a fast NB
Over storm brave (run stopper)- shift LB to side you think run is going to
this is the ONLY play in this formation i would recommend using to stop the run. it is pretty consistant for the most part but i would still use some of the 3-4 formations as your primary run stopping formations
to wrap things up, this is a VERY confusing as it is. if you constantly call different plays you can make it that much harder for your opponent. i would only use it for passing situations as it can really confuse people and make your opponent hold the ball that much longer trying to figure where everybody is going, getting you sacks most of the time.
i hope this helps some people out and if you have any questions feel free to ask!!!!
ENJOY!!!!!!!
