Offense or Defense which wins more games?

IF YOU HAD TO CHOOSE, what wins more games in Madden a good offense or a shut down defense. Me personally I would say a good defense because when i play someone that's just okay at d i will usually win, but when I play someone that is tough on d

you have to go with defense! anyone can score points on madden, the key is to stop the other team from scoring in critical situations.

defense controlls , field postion, ball controll, defensive touchdowns, and preventing or minumalizing the opponets scoring

I think you gotta have balance.
doesnt matter if you have shutdown D if all you can put up is field goals.
the guy with the godly offense can atleast put some s*** pts up while you can stop him 99% of the time and punt.

Everyone knows that whole game really rest in the hands of the special teams!!!!!!

anyone can score, but if u have that offense that scores everyime u on the feild in madden u dont lose. cuz if ur opponent makes one mistake u win. but if u arent just a god on offense then defense because antyone can put up points if u can stop em a few times ur usually in good shape

A good offense wins games, but a good defense changes games. I am going to go with defense.

either you shut out them scoring

or you score a td every drive,

you win either way.

if doesnt matter if u score everyime.. some times the time comes into acount.. they could have the ball last and score and win..or if yall were tied with that td they could go for 2.. and if not in overtime it is usually decided by a coin flip

i hate to say it i believe in a better defense however if u got an O tht scores almost every position stupid s*** happens in madden all the time all u need is a turnover and its basically game

It's way easier to play O than play D in the game. Therefore, if you have a good defense, you'll have something that most players don't have, which is an advantage for you.

In fact, the most important thing in the game is TURNOVERS.

THE way u win is to run the clock down as low as possible and get long productive drives this frustrates the opposition, limits possessions, and keeps the game in control. As long as ur scoring u have a great chance in winning

ya but what if you mess up? and you will mess up no one is perfect. it then leaves you with a limited amount of time to comeback if needed. i like to get up big fast then milk the clock if needed but i find when doodes try an play me close by holdin on to the ball all game it only take one pick, fumble, or turnover for me to blow the game wide open. your way works good but i think mainly it depends on what style of player you are. lol

D i would say because i can score points but my D is soft at times and if O won more games id have a better record jk

but in milking the clock the opposing team gets restless, and they force plays, and that can end up in turnovers

there's nothing more fun than playing against someone online who runs the playclock down to one every time, and picks up 3 1/2 yards every time, wasting whole halves on u... keep in mind this is a video game and not the superbowl. while it is a good strategy to winning, it's boring as hell for the other person, and i can't really see how it's fun for u. i milk the clock if im up by 28 and the other guy doesnt accept mercy, tht mite b the only time. and my D is soft so it wouldnt b a bad idea to try this method, however, as i sed, its boring as ****

great offense beats great defence.

ok here is how it is... offense is based around a couple of key players that makes plays..for instance if ur qb gets hurt it destroys alot of plays u can run.. but defense if one person is out there is alot of others.. and if one person on defense makes a mistake no one knows.. if some one on offense makes a mistake everyone knows.. deffense has more chances to make plays then offense

ya i dont always milk the clock cuz it is boring but if im sucking it up on O i kinda need to to limit the oppositions turnovers, and then i really on D and my punt returns

I wondered about this myself. I think they require getting better and different things. For example, if you have are tricky with your play calling, you can move the ball without being doing anything too amazing. But on D, you have to user control the safeties to have a lock down D. That requires a lot of practice. Some players just user the lineman and let the comp play the secondary. That always leads to an average D. So I think its easier to become good at offense first, then over time learn D.
