Defense or Offense

Which is more important when picking a team in madden?

Offence, i just need a team with a strong arm at qb and a big wr. the wr doesnt even have to be good example: Matt Jones.

defense, if you have a tuff defense, then you will get good field position

thats true but if u have a good defencive scheme u can make some teams D's look good. i do well with the bengals all the time and they are terrible.

Defense. Although I am starting to play as the Steelers a little bit because I am sick of having no Passing game. The Titans quite possibly have the worst QB-Receiver combonation in the game.

Really, I like the Steelers combo. I like Sweed, Ward, and the two speedsters. I like offense though. I like having a fast hb and a big wr.

I gotta say Defense,keep the other team from putting points on the board,you will win most of the time.

I think offense is more important. Field position is nothing if you can't score.

i think that i like a balanced team...my user skills can kinda make up for the defense but i like a balanced team

The Steelers might be the most balanced team in the game.

Its gotta be defense. Here's my reason why: When playing offense, you pretty much control everything you need to control, except blocking. You throw with the qb, run with the RB and catch with wr's and TE's . All of those you do manually. On defense, your players need to be more aware and better because you can only control so much on defense.

If you have a weakness on offense, ex: no running game, you can pass most of the game. If you have a weakness on defense ex: bad secondary, you are screwed because your opponent can take advantage of that. I know what i am trying to say but it is fairly hard to explain. Let me know if this is confusing.

noi completely get u mod...a defense needs to be stout and help u alot more by putting your defense being in the right spot so u can user them to do wat u want them to do...and offensively mostly everything is in your control...the runnings is all stick skills beides the blocking...u throw to your wr's except some qb's dont throw the ball where u want them to and some do ex: mannings puts everything on the money...u catch with the wr's and TE's and run after the catch..so i get it mod

defense, mod said it perfectly

i use the Ravens....so obviously....defense is important to me when choosing a team. sure....the Ravens wrs are not superstars like on the Pats, Cowboys etc...and yet....if i run a tight, controlled, run and quick/short pass game (with a deep ball from time to time)...my defense can not only keep me in the game....but it may just blow a game wide open for me.

There WR's are moderate and Vince Young is very annoying in a good way with a pretty good arm. Chris Johnson is just pure beast on screens and runs. The defense is probably one of the best and can stop anything

Defense u keep them from scoreing and can score for your offense

I play Collins. I'm a pocket passer and Collins is much more accurate.

Defense. you can score on D or on special teams, but if on O if you make a mistake theres no helping that if you have a bad D

I was gonna say offense but mod changed my mind.

YES SIRRRRRRRR!!!!! The Ravens have one of the best defenses in madden09. just yesterday....i pic this clown off 6xs trying to throw the deep ball on my secondary. awwwwww....it was a beautiful thing!
