3-4 defense run stopper

i got raped by chris johnson again im fed up i was usin the 46 defense and no matter what i was gettin s*** on i did everything contains and gap blitzes and manualed the FS to push him to the inside or make the tackle myself but all ended with an epic fail anyways im thinkin of switchin to a 3-4 defense i juss cant figure out a run stopper for the outside run. if anyone wants to share thatd be awesome

When I was having trouble with my defense I went to the 1-5-5 out of PIT playbooka nd ran cover 3 which is great and mixed in the cover 2 sink. It really stopped the run believe it or not and It decent pass coverage at the same time. Maybe give it a try Like i said it worked for me when i struggled with defense. Now I still run with the PIT package but I use the 3-4 over formation and dime formation, maybe use the 1-5-5 here and there.

really? i mean ive also tried the 155 juss not the cover 3 i tried the 155 and used the overstorm brave nano and had the olb on contains and the dude merked it ill try the 155 cover 3 tho good lookin out what do u use from the over? the usual sting pinch zone and sting pinch and cover 2

Omg u ran 46 wrong then bruh. Lol it stops the run wit the right adjustments no matter what u call.

u wanna know my adjustments for stoppin the run inside blitz spread line contain end and blitz the lbs in each gap and user the safety

Lol no hell to the no lol! Look just on any play spread line pinch lb's put LE in contain or RE in contain usually to the big side and play safety or what ever u user on I promise u it will work.

Oh but if u know it's a run fasure like on that inside blitz play then make sure u blitz all Lb's like if ur nt fasure do cover to to have flat coverage.

Oops lol I thought this waz the 46 thread lol my bad but yea runs can be stop wit nickle 155, 46, 34 requires freeze defense and blitz n MLB control practice if there a die hard runner u will figure out their gaps by 2nd. It's all bout instinct sometimes a all blitz is neccessary n frezzin d helps because sum1 will make a play. Throw the wide blitz in ur audible's aswell the corner blitzn is a relief just cover the inside holes and u will see difference. PLAY SMART NOT DUMB

3-4 qb contain blitz mlbs pinch dline put mlbs in both a gaps.spread linebackers before all of this.contains will wipe out the toss and other s*** while the inside run should be taken care of

This what I do. I run those two blitzes the sting pinch man and zone preferably the man blitz. and then I run the cover 4 out of it and set it up the exact same way (bringing safeties and LB's to LOS, etc.) so The dude cant really tell what is coming until after the play starts and since the safeties are brought down and LBs are at the LOS it takes away the quick passing routes and cover 4 is great coverage all around. This has worked for me really well. I do some other things too out of the Dime package then the 1-5-5. are you on xbox? we should play i could show you.

Yea dat cover 4 could b a base aswell I like to tweak dat in wit da 335 but I audible dwn got nice lil zone blitz I came up wit n somethin 4 man aswel.

You can be beat by fomrations...A lot of times people play the nickel 1-5-5 when the person is running. I use the 46 playbooks and do a play called weak blitz. The original blitz blitz from the left side but flip it to make it blitz the other side if he's running the other way. User the safety to cover anybody who coming out the backfield.

kinda like crossfire chuck myself. lol i think thats what its called???.... i dont run with that 3-4 mess no more.

the best way to stop chris johnson to blitz the outside lbs and user mlb or a safety. If you don't want to blitz the lbs then put the DEs in contain. The DEs will help you stop any toss plays.

if i think it might be a toss i dont want too man people close to the line of scrimage beacuse i always run into those doodes that run all game long, sub there left and right tackles in for TE's and then motion the FB to the side there tossing not to mention the reciever they got out there throwin blocks so i find a looser approach to the toss works better for me cuz if i stack that side and put er'one on the LOS and the get pinned inside and you got CJ or AP headin twards the sideline its gone be six so i like to user the saftey put people over there but not on the LOS and just play it manually and its worked for me for the most part.

Man 1-5-5 will be burned bad by anyone who knows how to run or abuse the flats...
