46 run stopper help.

i know this may be wierd since the 46 is mainly for run stopping and blitzes but whenever i play a team like the chargers or a good run team i can never stop the run. if anyone has a great run stopper out of the 46 pb that still has at least decent coverage can u plz help me out???

Do you have more trouble stopping inside or outside runs?

zone read, control the MLB on the hook zone. works alot since the blitz angles of the Dline are all weird.

if ur only having trouble against a few teams u might want to use a diff pb against those teams

One of my favorite plays to run is 3-4 under cover 3 against most of the people I play because they're not that good. I show blitz and zone to middle because people love running those slants/ins/ posts/drags etc. On runs it does really well for whatever reason considering it only brings 3 on the blitz. Not sure if it will work well for you, but it does for me. I find the more people you blitz to try to stop a fast back, the more vulnerable you are to let up a big run because once he gets to the second level, there's nobody there.

46 normal cover 3 (or any play, I guess...I just like to use cover 3 because it has 3 deep behind it).

Reblitz the 2 defensive tackles so they're going straight down, and then reblitz the 2 closest line backers and place them directly behind each tackle...Almost touching.

That stops a lot of runs for me.

The best way to stop the run is to use a cover 1, and play as the Lb paroling the middle of the field, but this will leave the pass open because you will be playing man

I personally don't feel that man is ever a viable option. I go cover 3 press, show blitz, crash or my line if they have certain tendencies and often reblitz my DT, then I take control of the lowest rated linebacker on the team and roam around with him a bit.
