Beating cover 2 man.

Okay so I was playing this guy and all game all he was playing was a cover 2 man accepted the weird part was the middle of the field was never open. And he was pretty damn good at watching most screens and drags routs and whenever I try slants he always at LB to stop them. Any help ?

Curl routes. If you dont know how to rocket catch, then wait till the make there cuts and then throw a high bullet to them.

IMO corner routes usually kill man coverage. But I dunno id have to see how he was running his D. if u could mix corners and curls u should be good. Its tough to run screens on man coverage. It can be done but if hes alert to it theres a better chance of him breaking it up or holding it to a min. gain than the room u get when the are running zone.

is he sending any one into the flats or the purple zones?

well yea but i was askin if he was changing the coverage of anyone... i kno what cover 2 man is but i run that outta dime and send the DEs into the flats or purple zones so u cant hit out routes or corners

he had to be changing some of the coverages cuz i cant see cover 2 man being that effective on all those routes.

when he ran the coverge how many pass rushers did he have ?

one way deep to beat this is in any 3 WR set have two guys run deep.. or at least one and it should work.. and have a slot reciever run a Post route. You might want to sub in a better reciever in at the slot, like a good route runner or someone with good catch in traffic. This still attacks the middle between the safeties, and works off madden 09's man coverage sucking. The key is to stay in the pocket and lead the reciever towards the middle of the field where hes making his cut. So if hes on the left side running a post to the middle of the field, use analog to the right to lead him. It should be open most, if not all the time.
