Stopping the run

I'm having a really tough time stopping the runs...expecially counter plays with AP i've labbed some d's but all of them seem to not help me in stopping him. Is there any playbooks that i can use that'll help me out ...i like the 46 but once he gets through the first line of D he's gone...i've even set it up where i have my quater D in the Audible to 46 so that my D is faster...still nothing...any help would be AMAZING haha

i used to have the same mindset bro that having all your fast db's out there would blanket the run. after many frustrating attemps at this mindset failing, i realized that is is better to go with the original play call whether it be a 3-4 4-3 or 46 defense. keep in mind that although most db's are going to be faster they are usually a lot smaller than OLB's and MLB's their tackleing instincts arent as good and they certainly are not as effective vs a pulling gaurd and getting off blocks to make a play. If you hav it in your book i would go with 3-4 normal pinch. its a pratty good run stopper. just see what your opponents tendancies are as far as dives/tosses and adjust the play accordingly to stop that kind of run.tosses DE contain and reblitz OLB's. manually control the backside MLB to pursue the toss, also highlight the running back so the d keys on him. if he runs dives or any inside runs the pinch play usually shuts it down. jus pinch the dline and play safety. this play is also a nano just reblitz the RDE(left of screen) and control the blitzing RMLB(left of screen) move him to the left A gap and get to the QB.... hope this helps.
