Reading the DEFENSE

Cover 2 or Cover 4 - Two Safeties are at the same level

Cover 1 or Cover 3 - One Safety is farther back then the other

Cover 0 - Both safeties come up a little bit, meaning LBs are blitzing, Safeties will be covering TE or RB

Blitzing Safety - One Safety comes up all the way to the line

Blitzing Safeties - Both Safties come up all the way up to the line

Corner Back Blitz - A Safety or Both moves sideways towards the Corner Backs, meaning the Corner Back to which the safety is shifting towards is blitzing

When the safety moves towards the CB, that could also mean double coverage

Good Post.....only problem is I wish there was a way to read Cover 1 / Cover 3 or Cover 2 / Cover 4 pre-snap. It makes a difference.

truthfully i never read defenses and i do pretty fine i know it
sometimes screws me over but i wasnt aware of how to do this and i am a
level 25 i should be even beetter with this thanks

this is some good info...if i see TO's safety creep up i jus streak him and throw it cus he's faster than most corners

Difference between cover 1 and 3 after snap.
If the corners back up quickly after the snap, then it is cover 3 since they are going to their deep zone.

see how many safeties back their anyone creepin up to line
hike if u see blitz dump to RB when he gets out their and watch him get a TD
