Source: Xbox 360 price drop to $199, $299 in September
A reputable source and self-proclaimed Xbox insider says a second wave of 360 price cuts will arrive in time for the holidays. A second Xbox 360 price drop this fall seems likely
According to an anonymous "mole" close to
Ars Technica (with a reliable track record, by the way), Microsoft will reduce the price of Xbox 360 models in early September.
Provided the source makes good on his claims again, the Arcade model (no hard drive) will drop from $279 to an attractive $199. The Pro model (60GB) will revert from $349 to the
current clearance price of $299, while the Elite model (120GB) will drop from $449 to $399.
**Important** Microsoft is trying to clear the warehouse of this flawed system... the reason why? is.. so that they can cut their lose best as they can and not have units setting around when the more reliable 360 slim hits next year. If your looking to get a xbox, I would suggest waiting until mid to late 09, then again MS knows sony is planing the same stagy and my bring it out sooner "2 get another head start" to try and counter the sudden ps3 Serge.
