Madden 10 Demo Thoughts

What do you all think about it? Pros, cons, etc.

I cant complete a pass, but really i think its a bit too slow. But, other than it being real slow it will cut out a lot of the bs online

is it just me or anyone else notice passes tend to hang too long up in the air? (20+ yards)

I dunno.. anyhow the overall feel of the passing games seems to share alot with the NCAA 10 demo. (dont got the full ncaa10 game to compare it with)

as for similarities with ncaa10, I don't like the fact the QB is forced to pause for a second while in the pocket when dropping back during a pass play..

this is INCREDIBLY slow.....

i agree that the passes stay in the air for 2 seconds plus each pass, no matter if u bullet...

but they get a A+ for presentation...its a complete up grade, its bout time EA put the crowd and sidelines in the game...it adds to the feel.

I like that the man coverage is better.
The out routes aren't as quick because of the choppy steps the WR takes before they make the cut. Sometimes the defense makes the cut first like it predicts it.
The defense reacts better to the screen play and doesn't get sucked into a blocker everytime.
I like the accelerated clock to prevent milkers.
The Wildcat doesn't seem to be that dominant like people thought it would be due to it not having a pass play. Wonder which pb's will have pass plays out of this formation?
User catching is still in but I have yet to get an 09 RC animation which is good.
Cant no huddle after an incomplete pass.
I haven't gotten a face mask called on me yet.


The short zones seem to break down alot on the game.
I can't get a damn fumble recovery on that stupid button masher game on a pile-up.


More to come from me regarding this game. I get to play it pretty much all day tomorrow.

what RCs r there? i cant seem to find anythin.. i got a curl once or twice but thats it

i enjoy the fact that its not bullet pass after bullet pass in football if your qb would tho and high bullet pass and you would get drilled your never catching it only in madden that happens very impressed so far

u can rc the out the corner the curl the octagon and thats all i have done so far

THE GOOD:
I think the Graphics are the best to date...which they should be, the sound effects (on and off the field chatter) is great also, when people bite on a pump fake its a clear reaction like some1 slipping or turning around, not just slowing down like the other versions, I also like the fact that u can't hurry up after an incomplete, throwing/hitting/catching motions are more true to the players, can you say Wildcat....

THE BAD:
SLOW AS ****...lol, I know they are trying to make it more realistic but when I put in Cromairte as a receiver and he can't blow by harrison in coverage thats pretty bad, also I played the other demo and its hard to get off the line as a pass rusher (Demarcus Ware/Jason Tuck), Like any new effect EA has already abused the hit as you are releasing feature (QB), Hit stick has a delayed reaction 1/2 the time, almost impossible to go over the top...( Im trying the pump fake, motion and one on one)

all in all i give it a solid B...hopefully EA spends some time speeding it up just a little because online play will suffer terribly if it stays the same not to mention the lag speed

thats a pretty gay move to put cromartie in at wr anyways! they set out to fix that and im glad they did, no reason to have any DBs play wr and be as good as a WR just cuz their speed..

I only did that to emphasize how the fastest player on the Cards couldn't even get deep, I tried to go over the top with Fitz, Boldin, and Breaston and somehow troy or somebody would be there even if I took control and tried to outrun

ok but that still makes the game more realistic... teams dont even try to go deep much in a game maybe 2 or 3 times unless one of the top wrs just has a killer game and gets open all game... it sounds like u will have to set up your deep passes with shorter passes and run plays.. i think it sounds more sim and i love it!!

I beat McFadden on a deep pass with Ward on a bump n run man coverage. Just lobbed it up and ran and got it. Its not like Madden 08 where you can bomb it deep almost every play with a fast guy.

Man D shuts it down. RC will not be effective in Madden10. You can pull it off against certain zones....but I repeat Man D will shut it DOWN. Sorry bums!!!

boston beaner u talk about sim games and being more realistic the Rocket Catching is not realistic, people go up top every now and then to snag 1 out of the air, but not so much to just any reciever its tall recievers who can win a jump balls or tight ends matched up wit db's....I smell a hypocrite

thats why we have a sim section on this site.. get ur games in that section so people play straight up... if u expect to not see RCing in tournys that arent from the sim section or in games that u dont talk to the person first and agree on playin with the sim rules we have then ur crazy.. mostly everyone on here will RC if u dont agree with them first to play with the sim section rules..

but my question is...im sure ur a very skilled madden player...u seem very knowledgable since ive joined.....

why do u resort to such a "unrealistic" tactic when u dont have to?..im sure u could win games with our RCing once...

I play sim thats why i talk about it.. i dont have a problem playin agianst a non sim player.. tahts all im sayin.. RC will always be in the game so just gota get used to stopping it... i have no problem beating anyone who plays tourny style while im playin sim.. how am i a hypocrite? its not like i play tourny style.. i can stop them though and have no problem playin them.

I dont RC.. im a sim player.. i jus dont have a problem playing D against tourny players.. i can stop the RC... if people wana use it they are gona use it... nothing u can do about it jus learn to stop it so u dont have to be pissed off for an hour everytime u play someone tourny style.. ill play anyone and ill play sim and beat them...

i love it, the gameplay is 100x better and and very realistic, i love it.

i love it.

i just don't like the play selection screen this year, they shouldn't have changed it.

and it seems to be a lot slower, which is ok, but it took an adjustment.
