| No way in hell you could say "I'll give the ball to Steve Kerr for a possible game winning 3" over guys like Chauncey Billups unless of course you mean if the guy is clearly WIDE open. Other than that, why would it come to mind to give the ball to a guy like Steve Kerr as oppose to sayin someone like Billups, or Peja Stojakovic, or even Steve Nash??? My top 3: Reggie Miller, Ray Allen, and Mr. Big Shot himself. No way I would say Steve Kerr at # 3. | |

| Allen Miller Kerr
who said clutch means you have to be able to create a shot? lots of time clutch has everything to do with hitting a wide open 3.
oh... and.... reggie and ray arent the best at creating shots... theyre good off the screen, thats how they get their clutch 3's.
so if you're talking about having 12 seconds on the clock, and you're down by one possession... thats a whole different question. if THATS the question you're asking then its easily Jordan, Kobe, Lebron.

| eazy, it dont matter if im talkin bout creatin a shot, comin off a screen, or whatever. No one mentions steve kerr over guys like peja stojakavic or billups. And yes, Ray Allen and Reggie Miller come off screens, but they also hit 3s with people in their faces or shooting off balance MANY times before than kerr. Plus, they were leaders of their team and are among leaders in 3 point fgs. thats why no 1 would say kerr | |

| To me being clutch is hitting the big shot in big games...Anyone can hit a game winning shot in Milwaukee/Seattle on a cold day in December to win a game when there is no one watching and there is no pressure on you. And that is why I have to say Ray Allen doesn't deserve to be anywhere near this list. He is probably one of the top 5-10 greatest shooters in the history of the NBA. But last year when he had a chance to show what he could do in big games he nutted on himself. He could not handle the pressure. He almost got the Celtics eliminated because of how poor he was shooting. I don't want my "clutch shooter" to only show up for 3-5 games out of 26 playoff games...This year he's been better. But there are still games where he struggles way to much for to consider him clutch. If Allen had played in Seattle the last 2 years would you still consider him "clutch"...Because he has done nothing with the Celts to earn the title as one of the top 3 clutch shooters in the last 15 years. | |

| 1. Jordan (younger and older) 2. Bryant 3. Duncan, Olajuwon, Malone, Horry
Ray Allen?...he hadn't had a meaningful game his whole career until last year, even then Paul Pierce had more "clutch" shots than he did.
Reggie Miller?...Great shooter and had that clutch game against the Knicks(that was probably 15yrs ago so close to being ineligible for this discussion), but he was also the one who got a lay-up blocked by Tayshaun Prince in the final seconds of a playoff game a few years ago.
Derrick Fisher (shot with .4 seconds against the Spurs), John Stockton, Sam Cassell, Shaq, Iverson

| The young Mike had no jumpshot, thats why all his early highlights is of him finishing above the square over the rim, lol. Not sure how Miller getting his layup block has anything to do with clutch shooting. And you put Malone before Stockton, hell even hornacek, wow! | |

| Ok, after seeing that dirty mullet decided to put 3 power forwards and a center tied at #3 over guys like reggie miller, chauncey billups, steve nash, ray allen, HELL even steve kerr(with the exception of robert horry though), i want this thread to be closed and locked. Ain't no way i hell you can list tim duncan, carl malone, and Olajuan or whatever the way you spell his name, tied at #3. Then on top of that, you stated reggie miller getting his shot blocked by prince was a HUGE deal or something, when that has nothin to do with clutch shooting. I'm sorry, but any person with a decent basketball IQ would laugh if someone said that. No offense. | |
