How do you ROCKET CATCH properly and effectively on PS3????

I hear so much about Rocket Catching on here but am unsure how to do it...I know it is effective and having a tall Wide Receiver is great but what about the right buttons to push and when...I feel like a dork for asking since its probably explained in the instruction book to Madden but I figure I'd go straight to the pros

I have started doing the fade RC and it seems to work really well. What u do is set your wr on the outside on a fade ( up) Wait about 15-30 yds downfield and fire a precision bullet high and to the outside. ( is precision) Then you whip your WR around and catch it. It takes alot of time in practice mode to get it down.

its much easier using L2

the pass is more accurate

do you hold L2 down from the get go ? The whole time before the WR catches the ball ?

its works well on x box useing the trigger but on ps3 i cant get them to throw it right

all u can do is throw it while using L2

then just let go and use the WR

u can still hold the L2 if u want but nothing gunna happen

ok, so holding L2 will give you the "Rocket" effect, so then you have to user control the WR?? If I'm wrong then let me know...I tried a pass in a game holding down L2 and throwing it to D. Jackson on Philly and it seem like it threaded between 2 defenders right to him...is that the effect you should get, guess I'm kinda lost on the whole thing, just trying to get my game up to speed a lil' b4 I decide to go and trade Madden in, hahah

L2 just puts more air under the ball.

I honestly am in the same boat. I am ranked in the top 500 and do not know how to RC. I want to learn though because I think it could improve my game.

what i dont get is the curl RC... People do it to me all day sometimes and when i practice it my QB just throws the ball chest to a little above the head high.. never goes high enough to try and use the RC and i get picked off.. can someone tell me what im doin wrong cuz im labbin it with the jags and i just cant get it down..

we have a rocket catching 101 thread that kinda tells you how to throw it and wat buttons i believe but if u wanna learn wat i did which might be right but might not be is i started throwing bad passes into coverage and jus trying to user catch those and eventually i got ok at the user catch and can RC from time to time but i dont feel comfortable doing or using it so i use it sparingly its mainly from bad passes or jump balls that i do it on
