Stopping the outside run?

Does anyone have any non-blitz plays that work well at stopping the outside run?

try any DE contains, or put the DEs into contains, its the same priciple as when the guy is scrambling with a QB to the outside, dont let them hit the edge.

also, most zones wreck havoc on runs, the O-line doesnt know who to block since everybody starts dropping back to start.

just learn to use your safety... i can stop any run even if i was in prevent defense.

To answer your question if you use 46 D just use cover 3 show blitz spread your LBs and control the LB on the side of the play.

Try some spy plays... spy plays usually stop the outside for me when nothing else is working.

blitz the ppl in flat zones, and drop the DE's into flats

I use 3-4 then pinch D line then have DE contain outside.....Most people see you pinch and try to bump it to the outside then my DE usually make the takle for no Gain
