when u choice a play, dont stick with 1 side of the play...the most important route maybe the backside route...the best backside route to have is a 10 yd IN or square route...what that route does is it splits zone coverages and the key is as long as you float to the opposite side(primary route side) the wr will run with u and wont stop because its like you are scrambling...if u float and wait till the route clears the zones or splits the zones and dont be scared to through it in between the backers caus hesitation will caus a pick...another backside route that works well is the DEEP POST ROUTE i call it the "NEVER-ENDING" post route...time permitting if you roll to the opposite side of the route it tends to draw the defense in and gives that WR the seperation they need to throw away from the cb or saftey...
Now, defending these routes is not easy especially the "NEVER-ENDING" post route because these routes are designed to have the defense focus on the primary side routes...rolling to 1 side should eliminate the half of the field you are rolling away from which draws in the safties and spreads out the lb's
The only thing that i can come up with to defend these routes pressure...pressure doesnt allow these routes the time to open up and get the best effectiveness...DE contain, outside blitzes, and even inside blitzes help caus chasing the qb makes the player make a bad decision throw tooo early or out of bounds and best results in a sack
SO...to my offensive folk...try and chose plays with a backside route caus these give your opponent something else to think of lol....ENJOY
