| This is for my Online Franchise team. I have 3 great LB's who are 90, 89, and 86 overall with 88, 87, and 85 speed. My OLB's are amazing in coverage and my MLB is a great tackler with 99 hit power.
I also have DT Sedrick Ellis who is better suited for the 3-4. I'm thinking about trading my other monster DT for another MLB.
I use 46 and haven't allowed a 40 yard rusher in about 8-9 games but I've been gettin destroyed vs the pass. Everyone keeps tellin me my LB's in a 3-4 = Extremely difficult to beat.

| I haven't played Madden since 2008. The first time I picked up my controller for PS3 I got online and played some of the best in the world with no practice. My record started out 3-24 and I was playing a 4-3 defense. I have since switched my defense to 3-4 and my current record is 19-30 (3 losses from a dis-connection). It takes away absolutely anything the offense can do if you call the right plays. The only problem I seem to have with the 3-4 is that I sometimes get killed with the 10yard outs and corner routes, but there are certain plays you can call to stop that but then you risk giving up toss sweeps for big gains. If you can find a defense that can stop the toss sweep and deep corner routes simultaneously in the 3-4 PLEASE LET ME KNOW!! | |

| i run a with a 4-3 playbook and i dont have too many problems, the 3-4 is more versatile than the 4-3 but if you know how to run a 4-3 correctly it can be fire for you, i dont run a 4-3 only i use TEN's playbook wich has the 4-4 wich i stay in alot of the game that or GL defense, when having coverage problems ill audible from dollar to the 4-4 to get better coverage same with GL cept i audible from quarters, got the idea from maddenbible.com (sgibs & zfarls) ive gotten to the point where i just use the 4-3 for blitzes and things of that nature, not really coverage if i need coverage ill just audible from dollar to the 4-4 or just go to a nickle package usually 3-3-5. | |

I usually start out with a 3-4 and if I'm having coverage problems I'll audible to the Quarter Man contain and randomly blitz a db and mix up the coverages out of that while showing the blitz every time. The main thing you want to do with any coverage problems is to not show the opponent that you're having the problems. Continue showing the blitz and bringing a run blitz every now and then because if you start committing to defending the pass that's when you get burned with the screen or toss sweep from some of the veteran all-stars.

| The 3-4 is the best defensive formation in the game because of its versatility. If you are used to a 4-3 then you can use the 3-4 predator which puts one of you linebackers as a pass rusher. What I like most about the 3-4 is the pressure your able to put on through this formation and how many looks you can give your opponent. You can send heat from any side and you can disguise it. I moved to the 3-4 formation and now i went from averaging 1.2 sacks per game to 3.1 sacks per game. Their is some games where i will get like 12 sacks and some games i would only get 1 or 2. | |

| the thing with both formations is that you cant really stay in them against eveything, if they go to a 4 WR set you'll have linebackers covering WR's and thats a mismatch, so you do need to get out of them or audible from quarters or dollar i think the 46 is and exception though cuz you got the speed package. | |

| I've always used 4 down linemen but everyone says the 3-4 is 10x better and that with my lb's I'd be unstoppable. I'm considering it, but then again I don't know the first thing about playin with a 3-4. | |

| i run a 4-4 most the game so im stickin with TEN's playbook, im not too good with the 3-4 but i will admit it is more versatile. | |
