Hello to all you stick twiddlers out there...I just joined this sight b/c I was looking for a place that explained all the goddamned intricacies to the game and liked what I saw. I've been playin Madden since before Luda did the theme song about 15 yrs ago lol. But I played ball for 15 yrs, from flag all the way thru college so it's an adjustment I have to make gettign used to virtual football. I'm a decent player but I just never put enough time into it because of work, family, etc. so now that I'm laid off I'm goin to start an intensive study program lol haha.
I find it hard to discuss strategies on here, by no means an isolated incident, because I always refer to the gaps, eligible receivers, weak/strong side etc. by the correct names and then when somebody starts talkin about schemes, I have to remind myself what they're talkikng about and use "layman" terms to describe what I mean. Some of you knwo what I mean, (numbering the receivers center out, even/odd numbered techniques, cover 1 vs cover 0). The only thing that does help me in this game though is the years I spent studying the game of football, which is not to be confused with Madden since some of the plays and scenarios are implausible I find) but it still helps when I can see his coverage as I approach the LOS. I just wish the controls were a lil less complicated on defense, I sit there screaming PASSS BALLLL tryin to get DB's to break off their coverages and on draws when the LB's turn their backs and run down the seam on a TAMPA 2 look (no football player worth his first bj he ever got loses sight of his keys, the triangle of vision that gives him clues as to what is about to happen, unless the ball or ballcarrier are already past them or they're celebrating a TD).
