Adam! that might be a good idea... with no strafe catching this year the defense has a huge advantage, meaning they can strafe into perfect position and on offense you can't... I mean if the pass is off and I don't care who your QB is at some point in the game online or offline this is going to happen... how can you get your WR into position, this may be what makes madden game play sub par this year... I just don't see the benefit of this not being in the game this year, its like, ok if you have user skill and can catch your own pass and have perfected this "you waisted your time" this is what makes NCAA 09 so great... A user controlled wr and cb going down the sideline turboing to get to that spot and strafing around and both jumping up to get that rock, this is what we as gamers have been wanting and on the year its all supposed to come together then you remove the most vital element... WTF! so now were forced to rely on animation catching again and not user catching. I think this is going to be the biggest hole in the game this year but we'll have to wait and see, it was just the demo.

Thats why I use Florida on NCAA. If they try to strafe catch they are going to get hit by Major Wright who has a 99 Hit Power.

Thats the animation "spectacular catch" bro... not strafe catching.

Strafe catching is when you turbo to get to a spot on the Field were the balls going to land and strafe around and "user jump" to go up for the ball. I'm talking about "user control" not a animation glitch catch. Alot of PPL hate the strafe catch or would rely on the cpu to make their catches for them because you had to have "user skill" and if not done right... you would be out of position and it would be a easy pick for your opponent.

EA! wanted to level the playing Field and now they have just done that! removal of the strafe catch is what separated the elite player from the average player.

Yes! Adam, this was one of the ways to counter strafe catching to knock the ball loose or to "user defend" it yourself

"user catching" is what I'm referring to.
"spectacular catching" is what your saying in your post, not user catching.

Where do ypu guys get that they drpped the strafe catch? I did it in the demo with Plax a few times.

Bro! I played it a few 100 x's... the strafe catch isn't in the demo, I hope they put it back in the full version b4 release.

If you can strafe catch in the demo "PLEASE" post how to so the rest of use can enjoy doing it... I, myself would greatly "appreciate" it.

you prolly manually ran around the circle and came back so that plax was str8 up wit the ball

they took most of the strafe catching out of the game. actually i think all if the strafe catching is gone. because they said it took away from the gameplay.

Fudgy! knows what a "user catch" is and what strafing meant to the game to get yourself into position for a "user catch".

Yeah! thats exactly what he did and is going to be so hard and so unfair to the offense this year since the defense can strafe... I mean "WTF" is EA thinking and it seems they are already brain washing PPL to what the strafe catch is and was.

If you can strafe on defense you should be able to do the same on offense if you can't the defense can get into better position by "user control" for a pick. it's just that simple guys... Prof is in the pudding... and this just might be why EA gave us this type of demo to play, without the ability to play defense so we wouldn't know the the effect on the game it's going to have this year.

Thats how it's going to be if they don't fix this with a patch.

Since we can't play defense on the demo we don't know that... right! I just was hoping this was finally going to be the madden we've all been waiting for and it seem like they tweaked the gameplay "less user control" in passing to seat up next years madden gameplay.

i agree but i think that if its that much of a problem which i dont think it is but hey..they should jus take all the user out of everything unless without the ball...i hate user catch on offense caus it is a disadvantage to the defense...throw the ball right instead of IN COVERAGE AND SKY ROCKET to catch the ball instead of to someone legitly open....u throw a bad pass i should be able to get it or jump the route but that sky catch rocket ship jump to the moon catch gotsta go.

The catch your talking about was a "animation catch" know as the "spectacular catch" and or the "rocket catch" these catches were animation triggered by glitches in the game AKA high streak bullet pass... not a "user controlled catch" and this could have been easily toned down by lowering the wr spectacular catch ability and not taking user control out of the players hands... I don't understand why anyone would want less control over the game and catching the ball and why EA would think that they would, like I said their setting it up to be brought back next year.

wat im saying is that it is super over used and a user "regular" catch can be turned into some something that can be unstoppable...i dont want less user abilit in the game unless it posses a problem where u can throw any ball into to any coverage where it be 3 ppl or 1 and user to jump UP or infront spec catch is a disadvantage for the Defense...i believe they are testing ppls talent and skills...maybe they will put it back in next yrs game or not...the precision passing is better to get the ball away from the defender enough to not throw user jump catches all game as there only offense or wen they need it if they are losing or on a 3rd down .

That Mean all you throws have to be on point and nothing duck like. This will make you a better QB.
