| Alright everyone I need some serious help running the ball I'm playing with AP because he seems to be the best. My problem is I'm not sure to use either spin, juke, truck stick or what. Whats the best route to take in each situation. Also i feel like runnin in between the tackles is helpless for me. Please my passing is about a B my defense is about an A- my st is about C and my running the ball is a F. Thanks guys | |

| If you wanna become strong at running the ball, dont be worrying about what move to use when you hit the open field, you should be more concerned on getting into the open field, using A.P. i would consider him more along the lines of a speed back, therefore you might want to hit the outside runs such as counters and powers, rather then hitting the "A" gap with runs like dives and iso, though people can be successful running the ball off the bat, running the ball is based upon ur passing game, if you can throw consistently out of formations in which you wanna run, you will have your opponent unsure of whether to blitz or zone/man, in most times if your succesful passing, they'll stick with the zones, therefore leaving more room for your runningback to get big gains. Then when they realize you have a running game, go back to passing preferably play action. | |

| Thank you I see so what your saying is worry more about what type of back your using with which plays and also make sure your completing those plays and formations with a good passing attack and I should come about with some bigger gains. Thank you very much buddy | |

| Yea running backs are divided into three categories,
SPEED/BOTH/POWER
Top Speed Backs: 1. Chris Johnson 2. Brian Westbrook 3. Reggie Bush
Top Both Backs: 1. Adrian Peterson 2. Deangelo Williams 3. Maurice Jones-Drew
Top Power backs: 1. Michael Turner 2. Frank Gore 3. Steven Jackson
When using a speed back, use more tosses/counters/powers (Outside Runs) -Then use these backs for the flats/screens. (Use same formation)
When using power backs stick to inside running and occasionally counters (NO TOSSES) -Setup there runs with playactions.
The both backs can be used in both scenarios, but the nod goes to flats/screens..can never go wrong with them.

I never thought of that and I am a prolofic runner. I always thought of it the other way around, Run first to open up the pass, but I never even gave a thought of the passing game opening up my run.

| Of course, of course. That is just a no-brainer. If you don't follow your blockers, you'll never get anywhere b/c you'll find yourself laying on the turf with little to no yards at all.
Some more tips for running the ball that I use of my own are this:
1. When you start the play, never turbo until you see the gap. You are losing your initial burst of acceleration and if done correctly, with enough practice you'll find yourself picking up five to ten yard chunks of green a lot more, or breaking the big one. The only time this isn't substantial is when you're going up against a Defensive Line // Team with 3 Bars of Run Defense. They get in the backfield so quickly your Offensive Line has to hold up long enough for you to get to the gap.
2. Whoever said motion isn't for running as well? I use motion for my runs all the time, not only just for motioning additional blockers to the side that I am running towards, but more misdirection as well. You can do this so often especially with your TE's if you already have enough block to the side that you're running, try motioning a TE or a WR to the opposite side of where you're running, it frees up space.

| To go along with what dominoman212 said. Never turbo, I've found my problem when running the ball is I'm in too big of a hurry. I try to hit a hole before my blockers even have a chance to get to their man. If you take your time and give the play time to develop. You can run any HB up the gut, Chris Johnson or Mike Turner. It dosnt matter, all you have to do is let your blockers do the work. And then once you get to the secondary it's off to the races! Also a big part of running well is being very decisive! Take your time let the play develop, pick your hole. Make one cut, and hit the hole hard. Do not be indecisive, dont comit to a hole, then second guess it and try to make extra cuts and try to break it off to the out side. Sometimes that works, but typicaly if you try any "Barry Sanders" type of runs. Your going to get tackled for a loss. If your paticent and decisive you'll atleast gain a couple yards every time. And there is no shame in a 3 yard run. 3 and 5 sounds a hell of alot better to me than 3 and 10!!! | |

| Anyone have any advice on the best way to utilize the Power O? I used to use it all the time in 09, and Peterson, and Vikes line used to beast it. Now it seems like everytime I do it someone is coming free at AP. Wether I turbo or not, or I cut back, or stretch it. Someone is also punching him in the mouth. Its usually a lineman, not even a blitzer. Advice plz? | |

| use your slide protection to the side that you are running towards, also, in power o you don't want to use turbo right away, just like the inside runs.if you do, defenders can come around the edge and stuff you for a loss. wait until your tight end gets out a little, then turbo through the hole. | |

| I come from the old denver school of run. Be patient let your blockers do their job. Then one cut and go. I never turbo until I cut to hit the hole. | |

| u can also motion ur t.e. or f.b. into the slot reciever position which opens the middle of the field more cause the lb will follow.(sometimes depending on the coverage).if u have a weak f,b n u can use him to take ray lewis outta the middle ill take that over relying on the f.b. to try n block ray lewis any day. | |
