This is a play that has been used for many years
and is still good now. It has plenty of man beating routes. Crossing
routes destroy man coverage. Then you have a flex route with the
10-yard in. We hot route this guy to a streak. You also have the ever
dangerous corner route
This is the play after we make our adjustments.
You see that the receivers get pressed a bit so we need to wait until someone gets open.
The crossing routes forced a pick. Then you see that the corner route is ripe for the taking as well.
We
went with the crossing route knowing that we can attack with the corner
route later on in the game. We also have a nice chance for a seam
rocket pass on the streak. The streak helps open up the crossing routes
and pulls some coverage away for the corner route.
Easy catch and the streak opens up some room underneath.
Zone
From the snap you can see that our players are running a good enough mesh to get someone open.
The seam is open and the crossing routes are open. You can also get the corner route if you click on and get under the defender
We set up for the rocket...
...and then make the grab.
