now ive noticed that people who play madden seem to have a better understanding of the different players around the league and how they play, so my question is this...while madden may expand your knowledge of all the players around the league more so then just highlights on sports center...does it in any way alter peoples view on the actual nfl due to being used to "madden ratings" example...nnamdi asomougha...best corner in the league? or product of madden? if you werent a madden player, and say lived where i do on the easy coast..chances are you might not have much knowledge of him...so i ask again..are the madden ratings a positive or negative when it comes to discussing nfl football in real life?

I think they did a study on this before and they said guys older then 17 years old it didn't make a difference between if they played madden or not... Kids from 12-17 or something like that, the ones who played madden had more knowledge of the game itself and players who played football then a kid 12-17 who didn't play madden... Pretty sure the conclussion of the study was it does nothing for adults and older kids but it does help the kids just learning the game to learn faster... I lived in boston until last november and I knew exactly who nnamdi asomugha is.. And it wasn't madden related, I don't take anything on madden to translate how good someone is in real life.. Matt jones one of the best madden wrs of all time sucks in real life... It does make sence though that the game can help younger kids learn the game of football faster then a kid who just watches 2-3 games on sundays and don't see football but one day a week for 17 weeks..

i mean matt jones isnt a good example cuz i think hes talkin bout the overall rating of the player rather than the talents of that player in madden.. cuz then u could also say darrick brown is one of the best ever in madden.. he was in skills wise but not near ratings wise.. i think hes talkin bout ratings..

but to b completely honest i didnt really follow all of the NFL until this last year when i got serious bout madden.. so i actually found out how good nnamdi is from his overall rating in madden.. i never heard of him cuz i never used to watch the raiders.. but then i started followin most of the teams and i found out how truly amazing he was..

i get my nfl knowledge off of college football thats how i know who's got talent and who's gonna be good in the nfl like larry fitzgerald, calvin johnson, andre johnson i watched them come up in college and i just knew they would be great in the nfl.

but madden ratings are kinda realistic on certain players but their not all right ratings calvin johnson should be an overall rating of 95 or 96 and everybody gotta agree with me on that

Thers kids on Madden that have ZERO knowledge of football. Like they dont kno Defensive Zones, how to read D's, how PA works, how to really run the ball and use blockers. They jus find all the cheap plays and use them. But most ppl that have a GOOD understanding of football are better at madden. And Calvin Johnson rating should be 97 or 98. Hes a monster. Great hands and speed, tall, BIG, Smart, and but most importantly he is a humble ass dude. Even though Madden doesnt count for humbleness. lol haha
