Dodgers get: Manny
Pirates get: Brandon Moss, Craig Hansen, and Andy Laroche
Redsox get: Jason Bay

This seems like a good trade for everyone, Bay is younger than Manny and has more years yet and puts up good #'s. I think the Sox got the best end of this deal.

Thank God! he has been traded..... maybe now my Yankees will be able to take over the wild card race if not win the devision.

What! the Cubs.... one thing I have learned is to never say never but the cubs are 65-44 so they have a chance to play my yankees in the WS .

It was actually a even trade, but LA got the best deal. They have the MLB's best ERA and Manny will help them score runs. The Pirates got MLB ready players in Brandon Moss, Andy Laroche (Adam Laroche's brother...Pitts 1B) and Craig Hansen.

Manny being Manny is like... Ocho being Ocho.

Both manny and Bay are putting up great numberrs where they are now. Hopefully they can keep it up.

It was a good trade for Dodgers and Red Sox. Another case of annual dumping by the have nots though.

are any of the players the pirates got playing olr are they all backups or in the minors.

Laroche is playing.

It is a shame that they don't have a good team. That stadium that they built is really nice. It is right in the downtown area of Pittsburgh. You can actually look in the stadium as you are crossing this bridge. All that money for a new stadium and spend no money to get no or even retain your good players.

They're getting younger so in a couple years they can do what the rays are doing this year.

The Rays also had another advantage coming in last. They got the 1st pick in the draft like 4 - 5 years in a row.

Yeah and they have kept their young players over time. Look at BJ Upton. Look at Evan Longoria. Then they also have made some really good moves like acquiring Scott Kazmir from the Mets. I still hate then GM Dan Duquette for trading him for Victor Zambrano.

They also traded away negative attitude players in Delmon Young and Elijah Dukes.

Good point. They got rid of Jorge Cantu as well
