| I think it's stupid...In no way am I a Manny Ramirez fan but I think 50 games is a ridiculous amount for some sort of erectile dysfunction drug he was taking...Yes, the 50 game suspension should be in place for performance enhancing drugs, but I think it should be toned down for other types of drugs...Still, he's responsible for knowing what's banned and goes into his body so I don't feel THAT bad... | |

| Fatso David Ortiz? Really? Mature? Don't be mad cause he isn't on your team.. and to say he is on steroids is funny cause he hasn't gotten bigger since he came to Boston.. if anything I think he lost weight. | |

He is fat! He and Manny have been friends forever. Let me guess you like the Red Sox and the Eagles?

| What does me having to like the Eagles have anything to do with it? Yes I do like the Red Sox, but I don't feel Ortiz did it cause I feel he has more integrity than that, and also this Manny thing he was following doctors orders. So I don't feel this suspension should be 50 games.. and seriously it was for ED.. enough embarrassment don't you think? | |

| i would be the first to say all baseball players are guilty caus this is a cheaters sport. now as far as many goes i really dont believe he was using steriods i believe his story and i do believe he was using it for wat he said. he shouldnt be banned for 50 games but that is the rules and he should be suspended for not going through the proper protocals to let ppl kno wat he was takings. i blame the arods, the clemens, and the bonds that made it so hard to get cough medicine without running it by your team doctors and MLB officials. its rediculous that there is so much information out there about wat increases testosterone, wat steriod users use to hide the steriods and yet no curse for alot of diseases out there and ur dealing with the same the (the human body). | |

| Rob from my understanding men take the drug he was got caught taking after they finish a cycle of steroids.. their testosterone goes extremely low at the end of their cycle and taking what he took balances it out so his body wont stop producing testosterone at the normal rate... its a pretty obvious sign that he was at the end of his cycle after all it was a womens fertility drug... heres an article i read that is sad but true for all red sox fans...

| Yeah it was most likely given because he was taking steroids prior. It was basically the same reason Benoit and Floyd Landis got their prescriptions for steroids (low testosterone levels). It was funny though yesterday because I was at the mall and i saw a billboard that said fake with the astericks symbol for the k. He doesn't deserve to be in the HOF if you ask me. | |

| Ya Beanr...I read more about it after my initial post so I tend to side more with the thought that he was a steroid user...Either way, I'm not surprised...It just further gives baseball haters like Buddah a valid reason to dog on our sport... | |

| 50 games is justice enough for me. You get paid to be a professional ball player. Someone of his caliber should know every drug he isn't supposed to take. Should have done his homework before he made an $8 million dollar mistake and a tarnished legacy. | |

if u think thats too much then u must not realize its almost the same suspension as the nfl gives for their steroid users.. they suspend theirs for 4 games thats 25% of the season... mlb 50 games thats just under 33% of games... u may say thats too stiff but when people bring up steroids and the first thing u think of is baseball u gota have a stiff penalty to get this sport clean.. i love baseball and i think they have a great penalty for guilty ballplayers... this will teach them if they really love the sport they wont do it again and it is a large enough penalty to hurt the team in their standings.. yet future hall of famers keep testing positive, if u asked me i would say they need to stiffin the penalty so players dont get paid still, manny will miss a third of the season and still make 18 million this year... heres an article from buster olney that i kinda agree with cuz its needed to clean up the sport.. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=olney_buster&id=4149176

1st place is a LOCK didnt u notice that the dodgers didnt miss a beat without him.. i think everyone in the media sayin it was gona hurt the dodgers inspired them to show everyone they can play well without him.. the dodgers with manny in the playoffs is gona be a scary thing for everyone except the sox when we meet in the world series cuz our pitching will dominate the dodgers!
