1-5-5 prowl nanos itself

Played a guy last night and I was running 1-5-5 prowl 1st and 2nd downs. I was using the "under smoke" play and it basically nanos itself. I put press coverage on, rolled my LBs to the right (since the corner is blitzing from the left) and 6/10 times 2 lbs would shoot through the middle untouched. This is an awesome play to alternate with 1-5-5 cover 2. Press coverage on both and they look exactly the same. Opponent tries to throw a screen or a swing and the cover 2 is all over it. User was 30-7 or something record wise, and had a total of 12 yards. I also mixed in the dollar combo 3 deep press and cover 2... Really sick defenses. The dollar applied very little pressure but was a blanket on the entire field.

is the 1-5-5 prowl only in the NE defensive playbook? i might start using this, or at least labbing it.

I wish the Prowl came in the Mutliple D Playbook. It has the 1-5-5 but no prowl
Damn, if only the NE D had the 46 formation.

Sounds like a good scheme though, Bring massive pressure and shut down the pass most of the time. Only 12 yards is amazing.

dose the 1-5-5 stop the run also

It has worked well for me stopping the run. It really confuses the O-Line.

it can work on stopping the run. some runs can work against it, though, if you are facing it, try running up the gut, this can be successful.

Really interesting. Trying this out in practice mode now!

I got fire from here this formation stop's anyting a offense can run if you know the right setup...by far best form in game.

is this formation in any other pb besides NE?

i was labbin this today and its pretty sick!!!! to bad i cant give up on my 46

yea the prowl is pretty good im goin with NE because in my last 20 games im like 10-10... 8 of those losses have come with a minute left

i faced a guy yesturday he was the steelers i was the eagles.
he used this formation the whole game besides when i got inside the ten.
i ran the ball every play and just worked my way down the field running i did maybe 3 passing plays.
i wouldnt say its the best formation in the game.
there is a time and situation for every formation.

I like this formation because what youre doing with it is easily disguised.. Running against it is a good strategy but with philly and westbrook, you'll gain yds against any formation eventually.. I'm not sure pounding against it is a sure fire attack..

r u guys still getting success with this because lately i havent been getting much success with it. Or what are the best plays to run out of it

I think if youre getting pounded out of it on the ground... just mix in run blitzes and try to get him into 2nd and 3rd and long..

The goal is to penatrate and contain... A big tough run-stopping defensive tackle helps make this formation work over 6' over 300lbs, elite if possible.. i use buffalo and Marcus Stroud. It may not be the best but it's the best ive found for buffalo's personnel. If youre linebacker heavy this is a great formation


i actually prefer 1-5-5 normal over Prowl
