Around The League

Welcome to another segment of "Around The League". We'll quickly spin you through the latest happenings of the MG-PS3 League brought to you by the madden school forums. Over 60 games have been played since we last checked in with you guys. With roughly 3 weeks left in our regular season, we honestly couldn't ask for more out of our owners. Activity is something we pride ourselves on, and our league is living up to our young reputation. This week, we bring you multiple story lines that are sure to catch your interest.


Perhaps the most peculiar thing to come out of the MG league this week would have to be the introduction of the newest Raiders owner - or is it owner(s)? From the looks of it, the Oakland Raiders have been taken over by two brothers by the name of Rizwan and Faizan. As unorthodox as this may be, the results have been more than favorable for them. Taking over a Raider team at 0-0, the siblings have won 3 in a row to start the season; including 2 over a division rival. What makes this combo special are the contrasting playing styles between the two. Up to this point, their strategies have carried them to success. Now, they find themselves tied for AFC West division lead with BigBuddah and the Kansas City Chiefs. We'll surely be keeping an eye on when these two clash.


It's been the Adrian Peterson show after the official end of week 1. With only 68 rushing attempts, Ihaveadream-mlk has AD well ahead of the pack in terms of rush yards and rushing touchdowns. Time after time, the defense finds themselves helpless against this beast of a RB. All that's needed is one broken tackle, and it's usually off to the races. Even though Ihaveadream will need a few things to fall in his favor to make the playoffs, there's no doubt he's placed his star RB in a position for the MVP award.



As of today, the Ravens, Bills, Packers, and Eagles represent what we at MG will call the Elite Four. These four teams represent a pair of owners from both the AFC and NFC. With both pairings boasting a record of 13-2, and a combined record of 26-4, these are the four to beat. We could very well be looking at a sneak peak of which teams will be participating in the AFC and NFC finals. Props to their owners: Da Bawse Swag [Ravens], Tevin-Bradford [Bills], CJ [Packers], and PrinceHarlem [Eagles]. All four have proven to be the early killers of MG.



Our very own Commish Eggz has Panther fans more than cheering with his recent play. Dating back to the day we awarded our first ever Player of the Week, Eggz has accumulated more wins than any other owner with 4. At the moment, he's become the obvious choice for the next PotW award. But with a few more days until then, he'll have to keep up the good work. Not many leagues can boast commissioners that can ball. So it's nice to see someone who can dish around the authority both off and on the field.
