WR Screen?

What's a good defense/strategy against the Wide Receiver Screen? I lost a game I should've won b/c of that $h!t....

I thought cover 2 was the trick but the corner would get caught up in the blockers over there

That's why u run 2 that side wit the play u pick most player that use screens throw 2 1 side most of the time and when they snap the ball ull know where 2 run 2

Dime defense FS blitz put your defensive ends in containment routes manual blitz the qb with the FS.

If your quick with adjustments also slide and crash the line towards the screen before putting DE to containments. ( crashing your line cancels out any stunts or containment routes of your defensive line.)

Also flip the play and blitz from the same side the screens going to... works for me.

blitzing is what gets killed by screens. most screens are run to the side of the field that have more players. if no side has more field, look for the side that has a couple WRs and a TE. i've found that cover 3 can work if you user control a safety.

Dude just guard with your DE on the side that you know the screen is going to. It gets them everytime. I had this dude one time try 3 screens in a row he got maybe 2 yards it was 4th and 8 LMAO!!! I kept saying to myself damn if it doesn't work on 1st down why try that again. I know if I try something once and it doesn't work i'm not going back to it lol.
