need help with ps3 online

i have a computer. ps3. modem. router.
my internet is wired
my ps3 is wireless
i can get online ps3 but it's very laggy.
comp. internet works fine.
so when i want to play ps3 online, i hook the modem to the ps3 for a good connection.
anyone got any suggestions so i dont have to hook/unhook modem to ps3/comp every time i want to use it.
