can someone break down the defense such as 3-4, 4-3, 4-6, etc?

Wat does each defense do? such as conentrate on run etc..



if people could list several good plays consisting of zone coverages, blitzes etc for each set it would help alot, im getting my ass torn on the defense of side of the ball. thanks guys!

When i run a 3-4 i tend to blitz a lot such as mlb blitz or pinch to stop the run. 4-3 is my basic defense with four down lineman to have a good pass rush and control the line of scrimmage when my opponent tries to pound the ball up the middle. i don't use 46 too often but it can be used down near the goaline. Nickel formation has 5 db's which is used for pass coverage, since they have fixed man coverage it can be effective. It's not rare for me to blitz a corner to add extra pressure on the qb and it's not uncommon that i come up with a sack or a horribly thrown ball which gets picked off occassionally. I really like using the 1-5-5 formation this year. You should try the Multi D PB to check out different formations and looks and you'll build a tendacy towards a couple which you can build your defense around. Also, it can depend on the team you choose to run with, different personel but that's what makes the game interesting. You'll get a feel for it after a few hours of labbing. Good Luck

Basicaly, all those #'s are refering to is the # of players at a certin position.

In a 34 defence you have 3 down linemen, 4 linebackers, and 4 DB's
In a 43 defence you have 4 down linemen, 3 linebackers, and 4 DB's

For Nickel you have 5 DB's, Dime you have 6 DB's and in Quarter you have 7 DB's ect...

Typicaly you'll want to use a Nickle and or a 34 if you are trying to stop the pass... while the 43 and 46 are pretty stout against the run.
