Speed or Height

This topc comes up every year before madden season. What will be the more important quality in a wide reciever? Speed or height?

that was for madden 09 and is a year old, this thread is for madden 10. What will be more effective in madden 10?

djax + maclin + curtis = my preference (speed)

well since i cant copy paste haha i guess ima try and remember exactly wat i said so here we go.

djax + maclin + curtis = speed BUT they are small wr's and small wr's drop balls on first contact if they are hit kinda hard and that is my only concern with runnin wit the eagles. but the speed they have at the wr and rb position is undenyable and in the proper hands as myself they are a super duper duper weapon. (jus make sure they are open haha)

we also have height if you prefer it in hank basket (6-4) but im still going with speed as my choice

I believe mods question was what do u BELIEVE WILL BE MORE EFFECTIVE? Not what u prefer to be more effective... It will probably be height again since they were trying to slow down the game this year...

i believe that speed will be the most effective attribute this year ALTHOUGH tall big wr's like fitz boldin are very effective at holding on to the ball even wen they get big hit right after catching the ball so it can be both but i think speed is the key for seperation.

i totally agree with you eagles have the fastest recieving core in the game. definetly speed

If we are talking about simply above average receivers and not the elites like Fitz then I would have to say that my favorite type of receivers overall are the posession guys like Ward and Mason.

receivers like dunken heinz and derrick mason are going to be more effective this year because they are finally gettin some love. smaller wr's never got love in other madden games unless they were really fast like santana moss or steve smith so my preference might change this year because throwing to these wr's in coverage is going to be more of a luxury and not a prayer.

speed will definatly be more effective with no RC in madden 10

imma have to go with speed. whenever i try to lead a pass high in this game to a tall reciever romo overthrows it and the safety over the top will pick it off. speed will get seperation and i believe the short passing game is gonna be what is up this year and a quick reciever can make huge yards after the catch

With the ball staying in the air so long i'd say height although speed has been good in recent years i don't see it as much of a factor in 10 because the game runs so slow... lets say u have someone fast on the fly im pretty sure its not going to work all game so user is gonna be a factor when faced with a jump ball constantly so I stand by height in 10...

im going to go with height...becuase with the catching anitmations this year is mostly over the shoulder if its mid to long range passing...so taller recievers will be more effective here..i only see speed someing into play on short passes and burning slow corners on streaks

unless ppl find out a way to RC this year i think possession recievers will be more effective

I like speed Wrs more. Plus i like the 5-7 out route and a speed reciver can break for huge yards.
