What year was the best Madden?

I'm thinking about going and buying an old copy of Madden just for the fun of it... i reallllly dont want to play 09 again. im thinking about gettin '05, but i was wondering what years everyone else like and why.

i like 04 was my favorite i used to get off wit mike vick on that one dude was unstoppable that year. i remember when i played my cousins once i was on his 20 yrd line i scrambled all the way back to my goal line then all the way back for a td lol but that was back in the days of madden cards too

im old school, very old school, haha. I really liked madden '99 on the ps0ne i think. It was just super fun to play and had a great franchise mode. But otherwise the one with vick on the cover ('04 i think), tha was a solid game. Of course i still own on madden '94.

04 was the best imo, the debut of the playmaker

madden 98 on N64 i really liked just cuz it was my first madden ever. I loved the franchise mode and the gameplay on madden 04, and i think madden 08 on ps2 was a pretty good game as well

any ps2 madden >>>> next gen

The last Madden game I had before I bought 08 and 09 was 04. I loved it. I wish I still had 04 right now but I gave it to a friend of mine. I guess if you find a deal get something between 04-08 on ps2 eazy.

08 and 06 on the PS2.

yes sir!! my boy Ray was on the cover in 2005 as well. TO THIS DAY....Ray Lewis is the ONLY Defensive player to be on the cover......*cough...BY HIMSELF...*cough

I beleive it gets better every year in general.

thats exactly what i think

I think the years on next gen have gotten better progressively, but i would still take the gameplay in any of the ps2's since 04 over the next gen gameplay.

94' on sega genesis.

i would say 05 cause thats when i was god and i won all my prize money then
