Try not to blitz these if you don't have to, because in this game, giving your opponent a 5 yard out route, or an HB running a flat means big yardage, especially if he has a WR or TE in front of him ready to take out that DB playing back there

Yeah I've noticed the flats r deadly in ncaa. It seems hard to defend even in cover 2.

yeh, even in cover 2, the DB presses the WR leaving the flats open for a few seconds depending on how good the press is giving your opponent time to hit the HB or TE for a few yards, then the WR being pressed starts to block.

So i played a couple gms on my bros 360 and i played some kid who was 8-1. All he did was put hb at fb and ran playaction all day throwing in the flats. After i noticed this i ran a cover 2 hoping i could stop it. But it still was wide open. Seems kinda broke that the cb doesnt jumpo the route. when his resposibility is to play the flats.

So then, what's the best way to stop it? I've tried hot routing my DE to cover flats, then they scramble with the QB.

quarters out of quarters 3 deep...

show blitz...

key run "to side hes throwing flats" pick or loss...

its max coverage with 3 man rush so you wont get beat deep make sure to coach "LOOSE ZONES"

Hmm...I'm gonna try that one. I usually try running a trap play with a hot routed DB to blitz one side and hot route the DE to a spy forcing the QB to scramble to the side he is going to throw to the flat.
