Red Ring of Death Solution - COSTCO!

In an effort to be useful to this site, I'll share with you how to solve the Xbox 360 RROD problem without having to send it back to Microsoft for months.

OK, so your 360 has the RROD.

1. Go to Costco and either get a membership, or go with someone who is a member.

2. Buy a new Xbox 360, preferably the same color as the one that is broken.

3. Take the new 360 home, and unpack it. Remove the console and take the serial numbers off the back CAREFULLY. Swap them with the numbers on your broken 360. Repack the Broken 360 into the Costco packaging. It doesn't have to look pretty at all, as long as all the parts are back with it. Remember to swap the hard drives on the consoles, because you want to keep your own Hard Drive on the new 360.

4. Return the package, now containing a broken 360, to Costco for a refund. You don't need a reason, just tell them you want to return it and put it back on your credit/debit card. You will need the membership card for this step.

Done.

They won't give you a bit of trouble, and they'll get paid back for the 360 because they'll send it to Microsoft.

I havent had a RROD in a long time. It shouldnt happen anymore seeing as they figured out what was wrong.

ive done this with several dual shock 3s, i got buy a new one and return a broken 1, works great, u could do that at wal mart or anystore, i did this at target

ok...let me get this straight:

-if your 360 has the rrod?
-you buy a "new" one ($300 bucks or so)
-you go home...switch serial numbers and the hard drive with the old one
-take the defected one w/new one's serial number back to the store
-they refund you $300 bucks (thinking it's the real one...which is actually at your house)

lol, just imagine some1 who has 2 360's and an extra 600$ lying around? then he gets 2 free 360's, and gets to sell one of em. Makes me wanna buy a 360 and get rrod.

yeah, the money making scheme is buy a RROD 360 off Ebay and then do this trick.

1. Buy an RROD for $50 or so
2. Do the Costco trick
3. Now costco has the RROD, you've got the good one, and your money is refunded
4. Sell the good one for $300 or whatever they sell for now
5. $240 profit
