Is there a way to play good man coverage?

Is there anyway to do this if you don't have great CB's? I would like to play some man, but every time i try it just seems like someone is always open. Any advice?

lol well yes, i can user pick it and i can usually protect the flats pretty well but most people just run a fly or a quick slant and it works every time.

then play with a OLB protect against that slant, if they throw it, pick it, if not then sprint to then flat..
you have to be able to mix man d into you defense but i would recomend not using man d if they have one side of the field overloaded with recievers b/c that is an automatic read and all they have to do is slant out rb the opposite direction and at least a 10 yrd gain.. man d can be good though, just got to mix it in correctly

Same although I only have about 2 or 3 good ones. But yeah, I literally use man 0% of the time.

I play man zones or man blitz when there are only 2 wr's or less.

play as the one of your linebackers or watch the flat routes

One of my freinds gave me an idea that i have yet to try but against someone who passes every down he said hes had success playing man coverage for 4, 5, 6 plays in a row and then throw a cover 3 at them and they just arent ready for it.. and he will pick them off a lot cuz they will start throwin all over the field with success and throw straight into the zone coverage..

even though madden09 is the year of the zones.....I STILL PLAY MAN DEFENSE!! what you have to do....is 'mix" it in every now and then...or....run plays that have a "blend" of zone and man.....because that really confuses the defense. try that out!

Same for me. If you mix it in properly it can cause some havoc. The main thing to play successful man D is to get good pressure, or at least make them think you are bringing the house. Also, bump and run with inside coverage will help stop the quick slant.
