The Seahawks released running back LenDale White on Friday, shortly after the Seattle Times reported that a press release stating the fact was inadvertently posted on the team site's Web site, then removed.

"It became apparent at this time that LenDale was not ready to be a member of the Seattle Seahawks," general manager John Schneider said in an official statement later released by the team. "It just did not appear to be the right fit at this point in our program. We wish LenDale all the best with his future."
White, a four-year NFL veteran, has been a divisive force in the past. He often clashed with coaches in Tennessee and was questioned for his attitude, work ethic and willingness to take instruction. He also has struggled with weight issues, but he entered Seahawks workouts at 219 pounds and said this week that he planned to play at 228.
White played for Seahawks coach Pete Carroll at USC, leading many to assume that the running back would work out for Seattle, which acquired him in a draft-weekend trade. However, he will depart after spending just one month in the organization.
The Seahawks still have Julius Jones, Justin Forsett and Leon Washington at running back
