Nickel Normal – SS Zone Blitz
a) Pick the LB Pass Rush.
b) Fake Blitz. Freeze the Defense.
c) Blitz the LB’S.
d) Re-blitz the SDT (right side of the Center).
e) Place the SS in the Right B Gap. (Use your fastest DB)
f) Place the LILB (right side of TV Screen) in the A Gap.
g) Place the RILB (left side of TV Screen) in the Left B Gap.
h) Place the Nickel Back on a blitz to a coverage play (you decide)
You should get instant pressure with the SS in the B gap, the SDT should
help with
any slide protection.
131) Nickel Strong – CB Dogs Zone
a) Slide Protection to the left.
b) Place the LE, right side of TV screen, to a QB Contain.
c) Place the CB’S in Purple Zones.
d) Slide the LB’S to the right. Have the Nickel Back Blitz
132) Nickel Strong – Cover 2
a) Slide Protection to the left.
b) Place the LE, right side of TV screen, to a QB Contain.
c) Slide the LB’S to the right. Have the Nickel Back Blitz.
133) Nickel Strong – Cloud Zone 3 - Nano
a) Shift the defensive line and LB’S to the left.
b) The ROLB, left side of TV, place him on a blitz. (Blitz him before
you
move him, so that his blitz will be at an angle)
c) Move the ROLB and place him between the RDE and the Tackle (left side
of defensive line).
d) (Optional) Re-Blitz the other defenders on the right side of the
defensive line.
The ROLB should shoot through, I would suggest using your fastest LB, if
you are good
on the Turbo Blitz, you might want to set that up, but you really don’t
need to do
that. This is real easy to set up and very effective on Under center
play and Shotgun,
if the RB is on the right of the QB.
134) Nickel Strong – Strong Man
a) Bump and Run. Slide Protection to the left.
b) Place the DT on a Blitz (should be in front of the Center).
c) Place the Nickel Back right next to the RDE (left Side of TV Screen).
d) Place the LB (on the left side of TV Screen) to blitz, and then move
him in
front of the RG but about 5 yards behind the LOS. After the Snap, let
him
take a couple of steps, then use him to rush manually.
The main heat will be from the Nickel Back, but your opponent will be
looking at your
manually user control LB.
135) Nickel 1-5-5 – Under Smoke - Nano
a) Shift the defensive line left. Show Blitz. Pinch the LB’S.
b) (Optional) Re-blitz the MLB. Re-Blitz the DT, if you have enough
time.
This is a good defense to use if the offense is Under Center.
136) Nickel 1-5-5 – Cover 3
a) Shift the defensive line to the right.
b) Place the MLB, on the blitz, to a QB Spy.
c) The defenders in the flat zones, change them to purple zones.
d) Manually User Control the Deep Safety to not get beat deep.
This defense will look like a nano set up; but is a coverage defense;
Great defense to mix in at times.
137) Nickel 1-5-5 – SS Zone Blitz – One Way
a) Have your best LB at MLB.
b) Bump and Run. Freeze the defense.
c) Slide the Defensive Line to the left.
d) Re-blitz the DT.
e) Re-blitz the MLB and place him the Right Side of the A Gap.
f) Re-blitz the LB right over the LG.
g) Place the SS on a purple zone or have him man up on a TE or Slot WR.
h) Manually User Control the FS to not get beat deep.
138) Nickel 1-5-5 – SS Zone Blitz – 2nd Way
a) Bump and Run. Freeze the defense.
b) Place the RILB (left side of TV Screen) in front of the LG and blitz
him
straight down.
c) Move the SS in front of the RT.
This is a good defense against TE and Slot WR’S and has great pressure
coming from
the A Gap.
139) Nickel 1-5-5 – Inside Zone Blitz
a) Place your best LB at MLB.
b) Bump and Run. Freeze the defense.
b) Move the MLB and place him on the left side shoulder of the DT; just
slightly.
140) Nickel 2-4-5 Inside Blitz 3
a) Bump and Run.
b) Blitz the RILB (left side of TV Screen) and place him over the
Center.
c) Blitz the LILB (right side of TV Screen) and move him to the A Gap
next
to the shoulder of the RILB.
d) (Optional) Place the LOLB (right side of TV Screen) to blitz.
