| Hold the right analog stick down. If he's a finesse guy, hold it so you break outside, if he's power, hold it down or towards the inside before the snap. | |

| Turbo Blitz, or just turbo? Either is fine. Turbo blitz just lets you try to get past the Olinemen faster, and using turbo just lets you get to the Qb faster. | |

| Doing this you'd have to wait instead of turbo blitzing to see where your opponent wants to run. Most of the time, when stopping the run, just not messing with the DE can stop the HB, but if you're going for a sack, you'll have to use swim moves. The safest way would be to wait until it's hiked to do anything. | |

| Try this. I have had a lot of success with it.
Place your DE in QB contain. Then, before the snap, hold down the turbo button. This eliminates the slow release out of his stance. You now have a jump on the snap. You are now free to run in any direction. Try looping around the outside of the line and usually the tackle or TE will not look to block you because you are in contain. Or you can loop back inside to try to tackle the QB before he hands it off.
However, I have only had success with this on runs. The DE always gets blocked on pass plays.

However, I have only had success with this on runs. The DE always gets blocked on pass plays. does this work with any de or do i have to take like a 95 overall de It works with any DE. The key to it though is knowing what kind of runs your opponent likes to run. If your opponent is running to the outside, line up your DE's inside shoulder on the TE/Tackle's outside shoulder. Run diagonally down and to the outside as soon as the ball is hiked. You should be untouched and ready to stop the stretch, toss, and other outside runs. If your opponent runs inside, Place your DE in the gap just inside the TE/Tackle. If you run slightly backward and to the inside, you can usually find a gap in the o-line near the Center and tackle the QB before he hands it off. The inside technique takes a lot of practice, but once you get both down, you should be able to stop the run almost every time. You can also use DTs instead of DEs. Also, if you do it correctly and still get blocked, you usually just opened up another player for a big hit on the RB. It takes some practice, but keep trying. Different techniques need to be used on each formation. Try practicing it against Shotgun Off-Tackle plays. It should be pretty simple due to the lack of blockers. Then move on to some singleback plays. It is difficult to do against heavy run sets (Strong Close) but it can be done. I have been able to stop Singleback Tight Flex Off Tackle with the adjustments almost every time.

| personally, i find that usering a de is the best way to get beat... user a LB or S... that way you can come up and support the run, as well as cover your man/zone... | |

| It is not my personal preference either. However, Guru asked what was the best way to user the DE and I provided some help. Its all about preference.
But try this out. I swear it works like a charm. I like to do this in the first few plays of a series to get the offense pass happy and hit them with a few nanos to make it 3rd or 4th and long.

| If you user a DE in the 4-3, make sure it's 4-3 over so you can actually user him and bring him off the line. Something like a inverted 3-4 but it's better because it allows you to get in passing lanes as well. | |

| I tried holding the analog stick down before the snap to the left, down, and to the right. The DE always delays beore i can rush in. i tried qb contain, the DE automatically jumps to the middle of the field, if even hold turbo and the right stick to random positions and sometimes i burst through but it is like my player is trying to hit stick and stumbles right past the QB. | |

| try turbo blitzing and timing the snap...
hold down on the left stick, rb (r1 on ps3) and y (triangle on ps3) and when its snapped keep holding the Left stick down, and hit your run button and drill the qb! i believe its how its done, been a lil.. i would only suggest using a DE in a known passing situation (3rd and 15plus) other than that, you really do want ot user the safety or mlb...
never the DT, you can really blow your run defense that way

Sorry for the confusion. Place him in contain. Then hold turbo before the snap. DO NOT press any direction before the snap. When the QB hikes it, THEN press a direction. Yous should get a great jump and the O line should not try to block you. If you want me to show you personally pm me and we can lab it together. This goes for anyone.

| Me, being a Panthers fan, I do this all the time. I will toggle Julius Peppers, and because he has speed, as soon as the ball is snapped I hit up on the right analog stick. Sometimes he gets engulfed in the left tackle, but more often he breaks off to the outside and BAMM! Brett Favre fumble. If your on Xbox 360, add my GT, "NineThree7", and I'll show you personally, sacking Donovan McNabb for a 7-Yard loss. | |

| I just turbo blitz with anybody over 82 spd and 80 block shed hold it is really simple press y, then hold the left and right stick at 7 or 5 oclock. If on the LE hold to 7 and RE hold to 5. Then let go of the right stick as soon as they say hike and you should peel off the block pretty quickly. | |

| ^^^^ If you use a really good DE like MARIO WILLIAMS i swear you'll get at least 3 or 4 sacks a game just by usering him he's so fast you can use his speed to go around any LT and he can also bull rush and if timed correctly with the snap it looks like a nano blitz. If you rush out side it works great when a QB is doing a playaction roll out as soon as the QB turns around he runs right into SUPER MARIO if you user your DE and rush to the out side that left playaction roll out and right playaction roll out won't work. | |

I should make a guide on this huh? If you suspect the outside run: 1. Place your DE just outside the furthest man on the line. 2. Playmaker the DE into QB Contain. 3. Hold the sprint button (do NOT hold anything else) before the snap. 4. When the ball is snapped, press the LEFT stick in the direction of the run. In the case of the outside run, I would press it down and to the outside. Your objective is to "loop" around the O-lineman. If done correctly, you should not have been blocked. If you suspect the inside run: 1. Place your DE in the gap just inside the furthest O-lineman. 2. Playmaker the DE into QB Contain. 3. Hold the sprint button (do NOT hold anything else) before the snap. 4. When the ball is snapped, press the LEFT stick toward the inside of the O-line. I prefer to press it SLIGHTLY up and to the inside. Your objective is to "loop" back inside and find an open gap (usually the A or B gap because the C and G don't recognize the contain as a rush and look to block someone else). If done correctly, you should be able to sack the QB before he hands off the ball. You can also use the inside run technique on outside run plays, but you have a greater risk of being beaten to the outside. If you don not necessarily sack the QB before he hands off the ball, do not worry. Chances are you are still able to tackle the RB with ease. If you are doing this correctly and STILL get blocked, it usually means you are attracting two blockers and opening up another man for a hit on the RB. Also note that this does NOT work for pass plays, so choose your coverage behind it wisely. PM with Qs
