| This is just a small writeup of some things I have noticed about drafting. Feel free to contribute.
First a few tips:
The Star Graph is an accurate depiction of a players current skill set. The 40 time is an accurate depiction of players speed The Bench Reps is an accurate depiction of a players Strength The Cone Drills are an accurate depiction of Agility
You can get a good idea of a players value by studying the items above. As always in madden speed is a highly valued assett.
Now for a few finer points.
When scouting players are ranked by potential, however on draft day they are ranked by mock draft order which is very different. So if you had your eye on a high potential player and then come draft day he drops way down in the mock draft. So how do you remember all the good players. Well I only scout players with high potential, now on draft day I have them marked by my scouting reports. I can quickly go through the avaiable list and aee the players with high potential. Also if I need someone strong now, then I can review there Star Graph and 40 times etc. This gives me the option to draft players with present value and/or future value.
Another thing I do is trade down to avoid paying players a lot of money. On draft day the "ALL" list is a good representation of draft order. So if a player I want is 10 people down on the list I will trade with a team that is 5-7 picks further down in draft order. Or if they are in a different round I will trade down and acquire another pick in the trade. I generally don't gamble too much and pick up the players I want a little early in the draft just to make sure. But not too early so I don't spend too much money.
One last tip, I trade away all my first round picks for a second and third. That way I don't have to spend the huge money for first round picks. Unless I need a top QB, then I will keep the pick.
Hope this helps | |

| I like the draft tips you have so far.
In response to JaZarsTicy. A couple other nice cheats, which aren't draft related. Sorry, not trying to high-jack the thread or anything, I swear.
1.) Switch your fast OLBs that are only potential B's to DEs to make then potential A, then switch them back to where ever you want. Works on other stuff like Reggie Bush HB>WR>HB. 2.) If you want a player off another team. Switch his position to something he's terrible at, i.e. MLB to QB. Then trade for him.

| Those are good cheats, but you could even go further and sign the scrubs on your team to high dollar multi-year no bonus contracts before you trade them to your division rivals. That way you cut their nuts off for years to come. | |

| Me, I don't use any of the cheats I just 1. Scout only the top potential players 2. Trade down til they are close to the top of the mock draft
That's it easy peasy lemon squeezie

| i just scout positions im looking to draft ... if i want lineman i scout them for 2 weeks because u get their run block and pass block in 2 weeks exactly everyone else gets 3-4 weeks i do that for positions i want to upgrade only then when the draft comes u have a general idea of speed and str and agiliy and acceleration from the scouting all u have to do is look at the graph to determine their skills like PMV/FMV/BLKSHED/MAN/ZONE its simple as that. alot of the top potential guys suck so its best to scout them all because u got guys who are low potential that come out higher rating then high potential guys
i dont cheat cause franchise isnt as fun if u just cheat to me....i trade away some of the older guys that are already on the team or guys that i dont really like that make ALOT of money and i go to free agency and i sign like 60ish-70ish rated ppl and i sign them to 7 year deals and i make them good.. the only trading i do is trading some of my good people im not a fan of for picks.. i let ppl walk alot too like in my rams franchise i let OJ Atowge walk instead of playing him like 11 mill and i replaced him with some guy i drafted

| another thing that i like to do is drafting out of position... wat i mean is like for SS if i see a lb that runs a 4.29 ill draft him and make him play SS so he is sorta like troy p and MLBs are usually rated higher at SS i draft good corners and make them FSs i take DEs and make the OLBs in my 3-4 because they rush the passer better sometimes i do TEs for WR so they can sorta be like the chargers wrs.... | |

| Ok, I'm completly lost. You guys are talking about signing QB's as punters and everything. My friend even said one time they signed a WR and used him as a HB. How is this possible? Do you need to have the update from online, or is it in the vanilla game? | |

| In some formations you can change the setup (i.e. backup QB, Spell back, strong, Dual HB, ETC.). Just Change the setup from normal to whatever says the WR as an RB. Or you can just change his position to RB and reorder the depth chart. | |

| Btw, if any of you see a WR named Anfernee Scarr, DRAFT him. He is a projected 6 or 7. I drafted him out of basically just his size, he was like my 4th or 5th pick and I saw a 6'4 receiver. Well, he turned out to be a 81, with 99 Accel and 98 speed, with like 89 spec catch and 81 catch and catch in traffic. Pretty hilarious honestly as I just picked him quickly because of size.
I got rid of that gimp Roy Williams and now I have a receiver to actually compliment M Austin.

HB - Leon Sweetwater = Sweetness = Walter Payton
And at fullback I have Joe Don Skinner and Deon Anderson as a backup

WR -Tez Mitchell, 6'4" 215lbs after 2 yrs, 94ovr, 98spd, 98agi, 99acc, 74 awr, 89elu, 99cth, 89rte, 94inj
HB - Leon Sweetwater,6'0" 210lbs after 2yrs, 93ovr, 92spd, 98agi, 99acc, 90awr, 98trk, 82elu, 94bcv, 92car, 67cth, 87inj
FB - Joe Don Skinner 6'0", 230lbs, after 2yrs, 88ovr, 77spd, 81acc, 78awr, 94trk, 77bcv, 82sfa, 62cth, 83rbs, 75ibl, 96inj
Those are just a few of the pertinant stats and these players are still in development, as they are all only 24yrs old right now.
Looking back I'd say that was an incredible draft year

| The way I develop my players, may have something to do with it as well. I always check the season stats, and probowl voting and try to get my players on top of the charts.
I just finished the end of the regular season 5, with 11 ProBowlers. Andre Gurode got injured so I subbed in Winston Justice a damn guard and he made the probowl, something wrong there.
Anyway, Marion Barber is now my 3rd down and when Sweetwater gets tired back. And Barber is damn good, but Sweetwater is better.
