How to stop 49ers offense

i just played this guy who murked me with the 49ers.. he would run to the outside break a few tackles gain 7, then next play same formation and i would hear the audible and he would hit Davis with a quick pass, then next play once again Gore to the outside. Anyway i can stop this craziness with the 46 defense?

never try to blitz a guy that throws quick passes. play some fag d and show blitz. move your fs close to the line of scrimage after you show blitz. reblitz your dt and de. it is easy to stop the run when you reblitz you dt and de.

does doing that really help???

You do want to blitz a guy who makes sure passes, it limits his offense. Just make sure you all out blitz the few downs and see where his reads are, (slant, drag, curl) and call plays with the zones in the respected area and dial up blitzes from zones you think that won't be the most significant. Quick passes are all about timing and i would delay BNR a lot and blitz. F@G is something you don't want to do against a quick pass because most quick passers don't mind holding the ball especially a guy who has Frank Gore for a RB, who can just audible to a run if he see's your in that s***.

true.. so i was thinking i should run a Strike 2 Roll which blitzes the outside LB and keep a pretty decent zone, i'll change the corners route to a flat and hopefully that helps

what i usually do in that situation is run a goal line blitz with a zone justin case and just incase he does try and do a quick pass i will take a linebacker and blitz him right through the line into the QB you might have to minch the line too

reblitzing your dt and de is the best way to stop the run.
the best way to stop the quick is by playing fag d with the combination of man and zone or zone only. if you blitz someone that throw quick pass, he is going to release the ball before the blitz get to him.
showing blitz and moving your fs close to the line of scrimage is also a good a to stop the run, but i will recomend you to reblitz your dt and de(bonvoyag)

reblitzing dt and de helps,but is not the best way..if your having trouble stopping the pitch to the outside,run the rush outside play from the 46 normal..contain your de's and spread your linebackers..completely SHUTS DOWN anything to the outside..playing f@g D is not the best way to stop short pass..if its slants then run a cover 2 sink or cover 2 hawk..just user the player whos zone is where he tends to pass the ball most the time and get the pikk

yeah that 493r' off. is a sleeping giant!!!you gota work it right..but it's good.

Question is.. what team were you using?

me!!!! i was using atl or denver team's with good TE'S that are fast,you will kill the D with this p.book...

The 49ers are probably the most underrated team in the game.

If you setup the defense right, it's also pretty good. You can set your secondary up to where there aren't any huge speed holes, no one has speed that's going to kill you when making the right substitutions. At the same time, no one has incredibly good speed either. No Cromarties on this team.

Then you have a fast SS at one linebacker spot to go with Lawson and Willis.

I've said it many times, you can defend spread offenses from your base defense with the 49ers better than any other team in the game.

Cover Davis,he's basically a WR.Stop Gore at all means lol.He has the speed to run outside. Try to pickup yur oppenet tendecies,and see wat pass plays he call.Short,Medium,or Long.If he keeps passin short,curls,drags,etc,run cover 2 or cover 2 sink. SHowing blitz and usering a Safety helps stoppin the run too.If he has two TE's on 1 side,crash to dat side,and slide the opposite way just n case he runs that way..

Gore has been the only person i have trouble stopping sometimes.

Gore is a hand to deal with.Just user a safety and hit em early and hard.Keep him contained.

49ers are a Colts team with no Peyton Manning basically. Also You can stay in the 3-4 all game long if you want. If you feel it's a passing situation, put Manny Lawson and Patrick Willis at OLB and with that speed and coverage you have a pretty fast and hard hitting back 7. Clements (SS), Golston(FS) Spencer, Brown and Willis and Lawson creating the so called dime package, with Harolson and Spikes being capable MLB and serving as basically a Dollar formation. Great stuff. Niners are the funnest team to user because they are match up nightmare on offense and defense.

Dime C2 Strike is awesome and stopping the toss and brings good heat on the pass. Just move the blitzing corners up to the line and outside the tackle a bit, then reblitz. User the DT for extra coverage....

yeah i played the 49er's for the first time not too long ago. gore was a problem. first two guys were a guaranteed missed tackle. after a while it seem like my only way to slow this guy down was to hurt him for the game lol.

i've been running the 46 inside blitz and dollar lightning 0 blitz to stop the run lately with much success. A.P. doesn't seem so scary anymore.
