Rocket catching?

Ok new to indepth madden play. used to run dives and outs and beat CPU on all-pro but now wanna get good so need some help and came here.

So what is rocket catching? and how do i do it? seems to be a hot topic but i just dont understand concept. thanks for the help guys.

Rocket catching has changed since madden 09.EA disabled the strafe button on the offensive side of the ball.
But anyway rocket catching is when you manually control your reciever soon as you throw the ball and cut the pass off and jump above or higher then the defender and catch the ball.

Rocket Catch setup-

1.)Make sure the reciever you want to throw to is lined up outside of the numbers.
2.)Put your reciever(lined to the outside of numbers)on a fade route.
3.)wait for your reciever to get a little bit down the field.
4.)Use left trigger,use a precision pass with the left stick pointing in the corner of your controller away from the side there running to.bullet pass Remember to hold the LT when making this throw.
5.)As soon as you pass the ball or the ball gets out of your QBs hand get control of your WR,wait for the ball to get a little ways down field and press the right anolog stick down,and press (Y)-XBOX 360, -PS3,press Y about when the WR is about to turn around.

*Rocket catching as gotten harder to do,in madden 09 they would never drop the ball when doing it,but madden 10 when you do it most of the time your player will drop the ball because why you are in the air with the ball in your hands the defender will hit you in your legs and you will drop the ball,but it will not be a fumble unless there is another defender there and is right on you.*

*95% chance the defender will not catch the ball*

*The best players to do this with are-Larry Fitzgerald,Andre Johnson,Randy Moss,DeSean Jackson(speed kills),Vincent Jackson,but there are many others to but make sure the have decent speed to get downfield and have great catching ability*

*P.S-if there is pressure make sure you have another route open because you will not have time to get the ball off,and may take a sack,or fumble.-Hope I could help.*

Bullet pass to the sideline, any wr or te on a streak..... Click on immediately and hold the right stick str8 down...... It is very consistent once mastered..... if throwing to the left then get close to the left hash and if to the right closer to the right hash, unless its going to your TE.... Then which ever side your throwing to get further away from that side but not too far

I get it the same whether I use l2 or not.... No difference

i thought they took out left trigger passing a while ago in a patch
