Is my Y button broken?

hahaha ok so when im playing madden I usually play a cover 3 and manually control the safety who drops down in the yellow zone. I use a fast safety and find routes that are open and cover them. Anyways, when I go to pick a pass and im in good position, sometimes I press Y to pick it and the ball just sails over my head and the guy im using dont even jump and throw his hands up. And it happens alot, about 5 times a game. The game just doesnt always respond to when I press Y. Does anyone else have this problem, or does anyone know how to fix it?


P.s.(no my controller isnt broken, the Y button works)

bro im with you. same sh!t happens to me too. i think im pressing Y earlier then when i should. ive tried holding it, rapidly pressing it...nothing! ive resorted to tapping L1 so i can at least swat the ball bc ive given up way too yardage on picks i've miss timed.

Dis BS happened to me last night. I swtiched 2 my safety when the ball was in the air, and whooosh!!!! the ball sails over my head for a TD. I was heated.

If you hold Y, you won't do a catching animation.

Its not the controller, its you lol, you gotta time it right...its not hard.

people that keep saying thread fail or thread is stupid are dumb cause it happens in the game to a lot of people ive talked to. The Y button doesnt do an animation every time and its a problem in the game

no your button is not broke.......his QB..accuracy..is high..so when throwing deep he just push up on the and it sail over your head.....that's all...you button is fine!!!!!!!!!
