| Whats up guys. I'm a relatively new player to Madden on the PS3 (I came over from the Wii lol). So far I am 5-8 which I guess is ok considering I have only had the game for a week (I beat a couple of Lvl 11 and 12 players if that amounts to anything). So anyway, I use the Eagles (they are my favorite team ) and the Run N Gun offensive playbook. I don't use Vick cause I don't one to be labeled as some scrambling idiot, plus I am naturally just a pocket passer. Anywho, I can usually beat players who don't know how to nano, its the ones that DO nano that obviously give me problems. I was just wondering how I would go about slowing down these nano blitzes so I have more time to throw? It seems like every game against one of these guys I throw a hurried pass and get picked off or I get hit as I am throwing and the defensive end picks it off and takes it back for six. Can anyone give me some tips on this? Also. if anyone can give me some tips to make my running game more effective that would be great. My PSN is FelixdaCat724 if anyone wants a game or to just lab some. | |

| running game: hold off on turbo, set up your blocks, then go. My running is at best average, but I get around 60-85 yards per game, enough to mix it up. For counters, slide protection away from the side you run to. Runs up the middle pinch or aggressive depending on the d's alignment, toss/stretch/sweep, slide protection to the side you are running.
Against a lot of nano's you can actually run pretty well with Dives and counters.
For passing against nano's, I actually find the best defense is being under center in a formation with a FB, like IForm Twins, Weak Twins, String Twins, Far Tight Twins, etc.
I keep the FB in to block (left or right to defend the appropriate A-Gap), then slide behind him and look for my quick hitter. I LOVE to pass against nano's because there are a lot of quick easy reads to throw too. Against a nano with BnR, you need to either hit your RB on a route or motion a slot WR to avoid the bump.
If you find yourself in a 3rd and long, you can go gun split and block a back, or go with something like snugs/bunch wk and block the HB to the side of the blitz.
In general against most nano's, you need to keep a back in to buy you the time.

| If u need time to throw sliding behind a blocking fb like macdaddy said is the best thing u can do... but u really should work on a quick 2 read pass play...ask ur self if there bringing pressure... hit the quick route in the area the blitz is coming from (TE quick slant audible on A gap nanos)....if the blitz doesnt come then the quick reads become man vs zone....THINK THROW 5-7 YARDS AND RUN
they become short timing plays that need to be worked out in practice..but impossible to stop

| If you're up against a guy who nano's you to death every play, you have to hit'em where it hurts, and thats the void that left with the blitzing lb. I find that pinching the line in and having a receiver run that circle route, where he initially starts running inside the hashes, then after 10-15 yds turns it into a corner route, I think the game refers to it as corner strike? But anway, if he's nanoing, then there should be an opening to zip the ball into the receiver after about 10 yds, if he gets bumped then you gotta scramble and find your HB in the flat or TE in the flat. | |
