I'm looking to finally get one. Anyone else already got one that they would recommend?

I'd really like to get the Hauppauge 1212 HD PVR, but at over $200.. thats a whole lotta money that could've gone to something else. like paying my electric bill. groceries. satellite tv/internet. or 400 apple pies from mcdonald's

hahaha 400 apple pies.

but yo, im totally with you so im glad you made this thread. im THE beast on UFC, so i wanna start playing for money but i dont wanna start running in to douche bags who can't take a loss... soooooooooooo i want a capture card.

i don't have an HD TV, so i dont think i'll want an HD capture card (i've played a guy who had an hauppage, the video looked AWESOME)... and i would also like to go cheaper for the alread stated reasons - i gotta pay bills... and i usually spend my miscellaneous cash on weed.

i could drop like $70 on a Dazzle (cuz thats how much they are, right?) but then i dont know what else i would need to actually record, edit, and upload. would i just need component cables or something?

I use a DVD Recorder with a built-in hard drive purchased from Walmart.
It captures at 480i (720x480).

When I switch my Xbox360 to 480p, 720p, or 1080i the picture quality on my big screen TV is dramatically increased, but my DVD Recorder doesn't support recording those video modes.
