Nickle 1-5-5

does anyone run this as their base defense or just use it a lot?

I use to when i would run with NE... Haven't really tried it lately. I'm stuck on 46 for the moment

i played against a guy who used this a lot today. i thought it was terrible. it does a good job of confusing me and letting him mix it up, but for the most part i could run all over him and get a deep ball in every once in a while.

oo, i was thinking about running it with the steelers... i heard it is a hard defense to run and perfect but once you get it down then its real tuff.

The 1-5-5 is weird. One of my friends uses it some because he uses the Multiple D playbook. I find it easy to run against by sliding aggressive though.

I Use Nickle 1-5-5 Prowl Alot Its Stops Alot Of Play Actions If U Know How To set It Up Like me But My Favorite Formations are 4-3 And 3-4

Slide protect aggressive against it and you can run all over it. Plus there are a lot of backups in anyway in this formation. Some people whu run it are taking a good D-line off of the field. Like even if my PB had it I would never run it as the Titans.

i use this all the time now. i just recently started using it. i have found that people get nervous in the pocket so ill run that DE contain with a lb spy. this stops almost every run, stretch, screens, and when he throws, contains the qb and makes him makes him make a lot of mistakes. since i play safety i always shut down one side of the field. he really has no options most of the time.this play always seems to work for me.

somebody using the chiefs did that to me once...

I just ran it up the middle, slide protecting aggressive a bunch and he couldn't stop it.

I think its one of the better blitzing PB's just because of how you can set every1 up. other than that, it isn't a really good formation

yeah it is a great blitzing style also

blitzing? i thought it would be good for coverage since it has so many LB's and DB's

naw dis formation has amazing blitzes u just have to know how to utilize the blitzes...

cardinals101 use to run this and it is confusing caus u dnt kno if anyone is coming or how many ppl is coming...it is great for coverage also...if u are great with defensive hotroutes caus u can create all kinda of havic with alot of speed on the field...its eazy to overload a side of the o line without really being to obvious. the 155 is a defense that takes practice and its only weakness is heavy runners.

my run d is 1-5-5 so.....ur wrong.....heavy runners is good for 1-5-5

i agree! i ran this a bit in madden08 when i used the NE Dbook. also, that cat named PtheStampede runs the Nickel 1-5-5 and Prowl Defense to perfection! it is definately confusing to the offense to get accurate reads. and the run? well...it can be stopped out of this formation as well with a few adjustments such as contains and spies.

I live with the 155 it is what i use. i use it for pass and run defense becuase if you know how to set your guys up it is nearly impossible to beat. to use the 155 tho you have to be creative with your blitzes mix up some zones and you have to have good user skill with the middle linebacker

it's in a few rip. NE and Multi D definately has it in there.

i use it alot and do alot of different things with it and audible down from quarter and dime its pretty good because it disguises most coverages u cant read it presnap coverage wise and it is a good run stopper if u make the correct adjustments.

can enybody make a 43 defensive audibles scheme for me plz enybody i dont care but i hope its great thats all lol.

i guess i am wrong caus i dnt kno how to set it up and i get ran on regardless of the amount of speed is on the field...the 155 for me creates alot of running lanes caus there is no dline to to swallow up the oline...i will have to try this more in madden 10 tho

If your opponent passes a lot of short passes, run a 1-5-5 cover 2. Take the LOLB and turbo blitz him. This gets me 3-6 sacks a game and gets lots of pressure and hurries
