i know that we all can use some improvement in our games (especially me). but...what area do you consider to be the one that needs the most improvement?

for me...it is definately calling the right defensive formation and play for the specific down and yardage the offense needs. i mess this up from time to time.

first, this is a great topic, because a key to becoming better at madden is being realistic wit what parts of your game need work.

My stick skills need some work, and my pre-snap reading of coverages also needs work. I got a lot to work on but those 2 things are my big flaws

My defense needs work and I need to have consistency moving the ball (especially in the red zone). Earlier today I had the ball in the red zone three times and I came away with two field goals and threw an interception.

Actually reading the coverages. I'm always too lazy to do it and even when I do I never do anything about it.

First..I really need to work on my defense...

Second, I don't understand how to read coverages when I'm on offense...and I don't really know how to read what defense I should use either...

I'm just a big mess lol

PostSubject: Re: Area(s) of Your Game to Improve On   Area(s) of Your Game to Improve On Empty2008-11-24, 00:56

Heres some tips to read coverage.

1.) Come out in the play you pick. Then, audible to a package like Snugs, Bunch, or etc.
If they are in man they will be in front of the receivers and if there not in front of the receiver its zone.
Then, just reset the play so you can back to the play you started with.

2.) Run routes that beat every coverage
Man - HB out routes
Cover 2 - TE streak
Cover 3 - Slants or a Curl route

If you want to get further into that.

Before snap - I do exactly what I said in the first post, but if you can also motion your HB out wide to see if hes being covered.

Cover 2 - Once you hike it both safeties will head towards sideline
Cover 3 - One safety will come in.
Man Zones - will get killed by the curl's or HB out routes/flats.

PostSubject: Re: Area(s) of Your Game to Improve On   Area(s) of Your Game to Improve On Empty2008-11-24, 02:37

i really like what Crunk said. but....i would like to add this to it also. i try to read the FS "after" the snap. he tells me where to throw the ball. for example: if the FS does this;

goes to the outside....Cover 2

goes to the middle....Cover 3

drops straight back....Cover 4

the CBs also will give away the defense "Pre-snap." if they:

line up outside...then slide in....Zone

line up directly over the WR....Man
