| Madden-wise, Gates. Real football wise, right now Gonzalez has a better career overall but Gates could surpass him. | |

| Tony is oldddddddddddddddddd. Back in the day he was raw with Trent Green. He's still good, but he was a force a few years back. | |

| Gates might be more athletic right now do to age but you cant replace tony's knowledge of the game so for that reason I have to go with tony. | |

| It's impossible to judge them on the same level right now. Tony was one of the best TEs in his day and Gates is just as good now in his. I'll save this debate until both of their careers are over. | |
