gates vs jackson

what does it say when the TE has as many yards as your number 1 reciever Jackson had 1167yards, Gates had 1157. Jackson longest was 55yards, Gates had a 56 yard. jackson 9TD's Gates 8TD's. I think they need to find a way to use jackson more on slants or post patterns cause they should not be that close in stats. post your thoughts.

i dont really see why this is a problem? they both had 1000 yard seasons and theres something wrong with that? lol gates is almost like a reciever so you gotta treat him like one if my #1 reciever and my #1 TE have a thousand yard seasons i consider that a good thing, now maybe if your talkin a bout a different TE one who mainly pass blocks and he's matching production with your number one wideout then maybe thats a problem but i think gates and jackson should be even in stats cuz there both that good. lol

Oh I am Not saying there not both great but I Feel that jackson should be putting up much higher numbers than gates.

^^^^gates is rivers favorite target thats his go to guy when rivers drops back he looks 1st at gates then jackson gates always been rivers favorite target but jackson has improved in the last 3 season as a deep threat.

if you've seen the Chargers play since Gates has started playing, hes been the leading receiver every year.

Gates is basically a WR playing TE. and its a mismatch with him against slower LB's and smaller safeties.

so Gates should be getting these stats. im perfectly fine with it.

I actually think gates is a little better but not by much put it this way if O.D. didn't get hurt he would've finished the season with better stats than gates and the bolts and texans throw the ball just as much as one another.

why do you have to bring in the texans who cares about them its a chargers thread so leave the texans out

gates is definitely one of the best receivers in the NFL, definitely one of the best TEs. the WRs run different routes, get covered by different types of defenders, are more expected (well unless the TE is so popular of a target).

rivers just likes to throw to gates for the same reason romo likes to throw to witten. they get open, and they catch balls. its an easier completion.

O.D. will probably finish with better stats this season.

O.D is no where near gates nice try.... the only one who i think could come close to gates is davis now that alex smith made him his favorite target..

owen daniels is nice, though. but who knows, no one really defended owen daniels like they would Gates or Witten. teams will probably be more focued on OD this year, which would leave space for andre to do more.

gates is still one of the best, if not the best TE in the game. just athletically he can do more, and he has a great knowledge of the game. teams KNOW hes getting the ball, and still cant stop him.

yeah gates is like the TE version of marques colston you just can't cover him for real there is no answer for gates.

now i gotta say some things about my boy O.D. i think he's right there with gates and clark and witten sh!t even gonzo and he might not get the same coveredge as gates b/c of DRE but teams have tried to cover O.D. and failed theres been times where DRE wasn't even on the feild and O.D.was still killing defenses all by him self O.D. may not be the best TE but he's no doubt a top 5 TE if he didn't get hurt he would've had better stats then all the TE's i've named #FACT.

look out for O.D. this season though you know he's gonna be a BEAST!!!!.

Mario I see your going to pimp everybody on your team but O.D. is not in the class of gates or clark he is in the same class as V.Davis H.Miller and J.Finley Owen has a ways to go before he is even mentioned in the same class as Clark or Gates

O.D. is a top 5 TE if he didn't get hurt last season he would've lead all TE's in yards,TD's & receptions.

sharpe is a bumbling idiot and O.D. is in a pass happy offense and I understand that clark is to but schuab only has one other target campared to manning having ten

well if you ask me, the chargers are doing everything just right. that amazing balance in that offense. i wouldnt change a thing
