Pass Balanced Guide Empty
PostSubject: Pass Balanced Guide   Pass Balanced Guide Empty2010-02-11, 10:08

Play Breakdowns:

Strong Close - HB Off Tackle

Setup

1. Slide Protection Up

Reads: This is the best running play in this years Madden. This is designed to be an outside run but you just have to followyour blocks and hit the openings. When I use this play I always want to flip the play a couple times at the line of scrimmage to mess up the defense so they really don't have time to setup a defense to stop it because they won't know what side. Also practice running to the left. Most people know how to setup run stops from the default right side. Runs from the left will throw them off.

Strong Close - Quick Toss

Setup

1. Hike!

Reads:

Now that you guys have seen the best run, this is probably the best toss the game can offer. Everyone knows how deadly quick tosses are this year in madden and this one has some amazing blocking to almost spring you free everytime if the defense doesn't make adjustments. Make sure you also flip the play to confuse the defense.

Strong Close - Stutter Go's
Package Suggestion: Twin HB

Setup

1. Slide Protection Down

Reads:

The first thing I look at is the A route over the middle. If you are killing them with the run, they will usually blitz there linebackers. You hit this route quick before he makes his curl basically like a short slant. If that's not open, they are most likely in zone and one of the WR's on inverted streaks will be open when he makes his move. Bullet with no pass lead to this receiver. And last but not least your checkdown route is the RB in the delay if nothing else is open.

Strong Close - Mesh
Package Suggestion: Twin HB

Setup

1. Streak X (A on 360)
2. Slide Protect Down (If Defense is blitzing A Gaps)

Reads:

This play really is simple to throw in. First look is FB in the flats, if hes covered then you want to look at both drag routes. One of them will always open up in both man and zone coverages. If you have multiple yellow routes, most likely there in cover 2 and you can hit your TE over the top on the streak!

Strong Close - Y Trail (Money)
Package Suggestion: Twin HB

Setup

1. Smart Route Circle (B on 360)
2. Motion Circle to the left and hike as he passes the left WR.

Reads:

Probably the best passing play in this formation because so many people will get open. First read is the motion smart routed circle receiver. He will be open everytime unless the defense manually covers him. Just hit him with a high-sideline bullet! If your opponent is blitzing then you want to hit the FB in the flats. Next is the TE. This route is crazy and it's dumb stupid how he gets open on his cut back inside. Last but not least if you have a fast square receiver (X on 360) then this can be a 1 play touchdown downfield. Bullet pass this receiver to the sidelines once you see him get separation.

Strong Close - PA Deep Cross! (Money)
Package Suggestion: Twin HB

Setup

1. Hike

Reads:

This play is DEADLY! It is a sick playaction once you establish the run on your opponent! First look are your 2 flat routes.. while the playaction is happening look at the LB's and see where they go to cover. If you don't head to the flats then you will have your RB's open for easy 10 yard gains. If you see the linebackers going towards the flats then look at the crossing routes over the top. If you see the corners stay down then they are in cover 2 and Circle (B on 360) will be open deep middle. In man to man Square (X on 360) receiver gets crazy separation usually for a 1 play TD!

Singleback Tight Flex - HB Off Tackle

Setup

1. Hike

Reads:

Another one of those deadly Off Tackle runs. I don't know why but the blocking on this play is crazy good and as long as you make it out of the backfield you will have some serious gains! Also the great thing about this off tackle is you can playmaker and run it to either side and have the play run exactly the same which makes it extremely difficult for the defense to adjust to.

Singleback Tight Flex - Slot Corner

Setup

1. Slant Square (X on 360) right.
2. Streak X (A on 360) receiver.
3. Smart Route Circle (B on 360).
4. Smart Route L1 (LB on 360).
5. Motion L1 to the left and hike as he sets.

Reads:

This is one of those plays that attack all parts of the field for easy reads and big yards. First look is the motioned receiver. Only way you can stop this is by manual coverage, you want to throw a high bullet to the sidelines for an easy 15 yards! If that's not open then look at the 2 crossing slants. One of them will get open as crossing routes kill in this years madden. Last but not least you have your rb going to the left flats. This kills most blitzes because most LB's can't keep up. Also if you see cover 2 then you have X over the middle!

Gun Split Cowboy - Slot Seam (Money)
Package Suggestion: TE Iso (If you have a Good TE)

Setup

1. Place Square on a Fade.
2. Slant Circle to the right.

Reads:

This play is straight money because of the RB routes. The left RB beats any zone defense and the right RB beats any man defense. Finding a play with 2 dominant routes like this is very rare so we must take advantage of it. With the adjustments we made with the hot routes, we added more effectiveness to the play. The slant on the right beats any man to man coverage and will be open if they try to nano and the fade route on the left will be open for the quick pass. Last but not least you have the X route in the seam. He gets open over the yellow zones and will be wide open if your opponent tries to put his LB's in purple zones!

Gun Split Cowboy - Slot Post (Money)
Package Suggestion: Duel RB

Setup

1. Smart Route X Receiver
2. Fade Square Receiver

Reads:

Another deadly play that destroys zone coverage! Once again you have your RB's on routes that kill both man and zone. But this time both of them can beat both coverages! The HB Angle route on the left has been deadly in madden for many years. You can either hit your RB as hes going to the flat or you can wait and hit him as he cuts for the middle of the field. On the right side you have a delay route which is probably the best delay route in the entire game. He gets wide open in zone coverages! If you don't want to have him blocking for a long time just line shift to the right and he will release earlier. But this time is not all about the RB routes. You have the smart routed post over the middle. This kills man and zone also. In man to man he will burn his defender and in zone if the linebacker bites on the RB's route he will be open over the top. Last but not least you have the quick fade on the left and a rocket out route on the right outside.

Gun Split Cowboy - Slot Cross
Package Suggestion: Duel HB

Setup

1. Place Circle on Fade.
2. Slant Triangle to the right.
3. Do HB Backfield Slant Glitch.

Reads:

This is a man to man killer! Your RB will almost always get open after you do the motion glitch in man and zone but more effective in man. If that's not open then you have the X receiver crossing over the middle! He will burn his defender everytime. If your opponent doesn't cover the flats on the left hit your left RB and make him pay. Also if I see any defender other than the ROLB guarding him, I like to hit him and just burn the defender to the sideline. This includes MLB trying to run over to guard him or DE's coming off the line. Last but not least you have quick fade and Jetpack!

Gun Split Cowboy - WR Corners (Perhaps best play in Madden)

Variation 1:

1. Leave as is!

Reads:

The WR on the Left is doing a circle route. He gets inside position after his first move. If you pass lead to the inside he will make the catch everytime for 10 yards. It dominates man to man. If they press just wait til he releases and throw it and he'll be open. If in zone, you then read the Slot receiver if they have purples he will be wide open.. if yellows just wait until he passes the LB and throw. Also in all zones the Circle receiver will be WIDE OPEN after his cut unless purples! Both your RBS are checkdown routes. If they have buzz zones kill them in flats.

Variation 2:

1. Put the FB on a slant left and motion him to the left side.
2. Hike right as he sets!

Reads:

Another way to kill zones.. Any zone the FB will be WIDE OPEN after about 5 yards. If they play cover 2 you have to wait a little for him to get over the CB, any other coverage he will be wide open as soon as he breaks towards the sideline because the CB will back up. If they have CB's or LB's in buzz zones then you can hit the flats all day to your RB. You also still have the Slot Route and the C route which is open on the Right!

Variation 3:

If your opponent is playing man to man then motion one of the RBs to the opposite side and keep him on the same route. It switches the defenders on defense and allows the RB you left in the backfield OPEN for a quick 5 yards. This KILLS any dime or quarters coverage because the defender will be guarding the RB you left in the backfield and will be all the way on the opposite side of the field which will leave you open for 10+ yards. Watch out for DE's in contain routes. If you see this just wait or rollout that side and pass!

So much you can do to this play to make it dominant.

Gun Split Cowboy - PA Skinny Post
Package Suggestion: Duel HB

Setup

1. Place Circle on Streak
2. Block L1
3. Motion L1 to right.
4. Place L1 on drag to left.
5. Place Square on fade!

Reads: This is a very nice play I look for when I need a first down. You can really run this play all game if the defense doesn't adjust because it is beast against both man and zone! Your first read will be the L1 receiver on the drag route. He will burn his defender in man to man. If your opponent is in zone coverage then he will draw the MLB which will leave your X receiver WIDE OPEN in the middle of the field on his post route! Oh and did I forget to tell you when the Triangle receiver comes out of his delay route he will be WIDE OPEN 99% of the time for a big gain in man to man! In zone he will still get open but any zone will probably stop you after 7 yards unless you got a playmaker in the backfield. Also you can do the quick fade on this play and it is very different than other plays because the WR is not so far out to the sideline. In all zones except cover 2 you can hit the quick fade. In cover 2 just wait until he gets above the CB and if your opponent plays man then look at the corner he will make a little jerk move, that's when you throw a high bullet to the sidelines. It works everytime unless the defense is in BNR.

Gun Split Cowboy - 689 Hook

Setup

1. Slant Square receiver to the right.
2. Put Circle on a Fade route.

Reads:

First read is the Triangle receiver, if your opponent is blitzing or not guarding the flats he will be open. If your opponent is in man coverage then your Square receiver will be open. If your opponent plays zone then your L1 receiver will be open as he hits the soft spot of the zones. Your X receiver will get open when your opponent bites on the RB route or he tries to play cover 2. If your opponent is running cover 2 then you can hit the quick fade technique!

Gun Snugs Flip - HB Mid Draw

Setup

1. (Optional) Motion L1 receiver to right and hike when he gets directly behind LG.

Reads:

Keep the defense honest with this play. Don't let defenses run fag defenses on you. Also if you see outside pressure get it up the middle for a big gain. Don't forget about the draw!!

Gun Snugs Flip - Corner N Go's

Setup

1. Put RB on drag to the left.

Reads:

This is a rare type of play in madden and very difficult to defend. The 2 slot receivers are running unusual routes but they are very effective! You can throw to them at different points to destroy different coverages. First you can throw it as a quick pass. If the defense doesn't run straight to the flats he will be wide open for a big gain. If they do then just wait for him to cut back inside for a good gain. They will ALWAYS be open at some point, you just have to hit it! Next you have your RB in the flats if they try to blitz or run man to man.

Gun Snugs Flip - PA X Clown

Setup

1. Place RB on right slant.
2. Motion RB to the right and hike as he sets!

Reads:

If your opponent doesn't cover the RB on the slants he will be wide open against any coverage. Once they start covering that then you want to look at your other reads. First look is the left slot receiver. If your opponent is playing is playing man coverage he will get open after his break, also in man coverage your Circle receiver will get open once he burns his man over the middle. He gets open in zone also once he passes the yellow zones. Your next read is the X receiver. This is your go-to guy! He will almost always be open unless the defense user covers it. Last but not least you have the clown route over the top! This can be a 1 play TD if you have a speedy WR and a QB with a strong arm. The move that the WR makes will leave him wide open everytime. If they have no deep coverage then you will have a huge gain!

Guns Trey Open - Y Shallow Cross

Setup

1. Streak Square Receiver.
2. Place L1 on drag right.

Reads:

This is a crazy play because the motioned receiver will get the triangle receivers wheel route wide open! The CB's and LB's will follow the motioned receiver and you can throw a high sidelined bullet to the Triangle receiver for a easy gain. If that's not open look at the crossing routes with your RB and X receiver. If L1 stays low the hit the circle receiver on the post.

Gun Trey Open - WR Screen

Setup

1. Hike

Reads:

Use this if your opponent is using zone coverage most of the game. If you catch him off guard it will go for a Touchdown.

Goaline - Off Tackle

1. Hike

Reads:

Best Off Tackle play in the game, just follow your blockers. Mix in Strong Toss to be less predictable.

Schemes

Scheme #1

Audibles:

1. Gun Trey Open: Y Shallow Cross
2. Goaline: Off Tackle
3. Gun Split Cowboy: Slot Seam
4. Gun Split Cowboy: Slot Post
5. Gun Snugs Flip: PA X Clown

I come out in the play Gun Split Cowboy: WR Corners and audible according to how the defense reacts. Gun Split Cowboys is both a man and zone beater and you can do so much with that play. Shallow Cross is a nice zone beater and also has crossing routes to beat man. Offtackle from goaline is the best running play in the game. Slot seam has 2 unguardable routes out of the backfield in which 1 will always be open. Slot post has a nice way to beat the middle of the field by your X receiver and your RB and last but not least, PA X Clown is one of the very best plays in madden.

Scheme #2

Audibles:

1. Goaline: HB Off Tackle
2. Strong Close: Off Tackle
3. Strong Close: PA Deep Cross
4. Split Cowboy: Slot Seam
5. Gun Snugs: PA X Clown

As you can see with the audibles, you should notice they are pretty run dependent right off the bat. The goaline off tackle is there for audibling down to when you feel you see a defense you can exploit. Strong Close offtackle is there so you can have a good formation to fall back on if you don't like what you see on the defense. You have PA Deep cross because the quick audibles in strong close have a different PA play than this one. Slot Seam is there in case you need a quick gain on a 3rd and medium or short. PA X Clown is there for obvious reasons.

You can motion the short block route too towards the RB so he lines up in iform. Flipping the play while using this motion is good.

Another play that you missed that helps with the Singleback Tight Flex scheme is PA Waggle. It is quick audible left.

Motion flat route to the outside, quick hike it, and throw to motioned WR.

This abuses the faulty AI. I had to play a guy last night in my league last night and he had two catches (one for 68 yard TD, and one for 28 yards). It's a pain in the ass to defend because you have to cover it manually and you can't see how far they motioned the player over. You can adjust the other routes too to beat certain coverages but all you need to do is hit the flat route.

Post the 46 anyway! Screw the sales! Haha jk Mod. lol!

I run a similar offense to this, I like to mix in Gun Y-Trips HB Wk, Strong Slot, and Gun Doubles as well. Also, try out the FL Drive play out of strong close. Quick pass to FB = Money, especially when they use their whole team to shut down the off-tackle lol.

I never once said this was created by me. Otherwise I would of called the topic "Alex's Pass Balanced Guide". I just posted a guide that people would find helpful and didn't change anything trying to call it my own.

Also how is this "stolen"...? There is no password on this guide and it was available for download. So please explain to me, how it is "stolen". Just cause I posted it on here...? Ok, everything must be stealing these days.

Chill out and stop assuming stuff.

O n don't forget the qb sneak from the goaline, this is a great counter for when your opp thinks your running off tackle, do not hold turbo, hold the R1(ps3) and let the computer run, 4 to 5 yrds every time, and yes i know its cheesy but it works lol
