I'm taking the Vikings!
VIKINGS--Match-ups to watch:
AP vs 3-4 of the Packers. Packers are still 22nd in rush D switching over from the 4-3. Giving over 100 yards to Benson and a lot to Jackson as well (which should worry Pack fans out there going up against the Vikes and AP). it'll be interesting to see how Kampman takes on AP as a stand-up linebacker and if he can cover Shiancoe (who surprisingly hasn't done much, so there might be no competition there). But I do know kampman will have his hands full watching out for end-arounds with Harven and taylor comming out of the backfield.
Farve vs 3-4 of the packers. After Farve started to pick apart the blitz happy defense of the 49ers will the pack continue with their blitzes too? A potential problem for the pack will be the Vikes 3-wide sets. No way can any one of those LB's keep up with Harven. Will that force the pack to play out of the 3-4? If not, we'll probably see a whole lot of zone blitzes...wonder how kampman feels about zone coverage? I know barnett and hawk will be good at zone coverage, but zone coverage is something Favre can handle with ease...especially since he knows kampman is new to it.
the 3-6-1 or what the heck? 5 or 6 linebackers? Well, whatever it was...don't think that's gonna work well against the vikes b/c of the depth at WR for the Vikes. The 3 WR sets for the vike are gonna cause mismatches for the pack. If they decide to play out of the 3-4 to match up against the Vikes, look for AP to have an even bigger day.
Special Teams: we suck. I'm always worried that on kick offs someone is gonna run a big one back on us (like in the browns game). And the packers are pretty darn good at special teams returns. This is probably gonna play huge.
Packers matchups:
Rodgers: not much to say. He's a playmaker, but his play comes down to how that OL plays. So i guess, if Taucher comes back it'll be nice for the pack. But even then he won't be playing at 100%. Either way, Allen should be seeing constant double teams to give Rodgers more time to throw. (but as a vikings fan, I hope they don't double him...hahahahah...muahahhaa. But they probably will. Darn it Ray Edwards, you'll be seeing man all day. Do something!!!).
Ryan Grant: If you thought the first 2 weeks were tough running the ball, good luck. Ain't gonna happen here. Hopefully, he's worked on his receiving and blocking skills. he could have a decent day if the pack can give him a few screens here and there against the vikings slower LB's (except for Greenway).
Donald Driver: I'm so sorry my vikings bros, but he's gonna eat up cedric griffin and his kids. Driver is a machine. he doesn't look fast, but he knows how to beat his man off press and get open (as well as make the tough catch...like against the RAMS. Driver is too cool). Hope the pack let him go after this year and he can come play with Favre next year. hehehehe.
Packer TE's: well, if you saw what vernon davis did to us you should be licking your chops. Except that your TE's haven't done much of anything either just like our Shiancoe. But i'd give the pack TE's the nod here b/c other than greenway, our LB's can't cover.
Special teams: Better be on their game, b/c if the pack can't get good field position... the vikes will be more than happy to just rush 4 and keep everything in front of them. But I don't see the Packers special teams not being a factor b/c they've always had one of the best in the league for years now. So, this game should be good.
