Havent played since 08 and need a playbook

Hi everyone, decade long madden player here returning from a 1 year hiatus. I would say my skill level at Madden 08 before I quit was as close to top notch as you could get without quitting your job/school to play.

In 08 I used to use the Browns offense and had a very sound offensive strategy. I-Form/Weak/Strong to run and playaction, Multiple Varieties of Single Back to mix up the run and pass short, but the bread and butter of my offense was the 4 wide (2 left, 2 right) shotgun set. I would mix up these 3 formations and generally could keep my opponants confused for multiple games.

HB Sweep/Slot Outs/Corner/HB Screen/HB Swing was pretty much the bread and butter of my offense. The Romeo Crennel playbook obviously no longer exists and I have been unable to find a playbook where I can have this same success out of this set. I have struggled to run the ball out of the shotgun formation a lot more than I did before and it appears the HB swing play is no longer in the game. Any suggestions on what playbook to use? I have done fine out of I-form/Singleback in 2010 but need a playbook with a very strong 4 wide shotgun formation in order to make this playbook work.

I was in the same boat...I didnt play 09 at all. For now i would suggest NE o book and NJ D book...great plays in there 1-5-5 is uber hard to read. Good luck welcome back

Been using West Coast a lot, I like the I-Form as well as strong/weak options and its singleback formations are very effective for running the ball and countering with PA.

The only issue I am still having is running the ball effectively out of the shotgun set. Still have not found a playbook that mixes the run/pass well out of the 4 wide formations.
